You can see he has a lot of ability, but somehow he rarely seems to be effective, as you say he had a great assist today and in the past he's had some good moments and goals but there don't seem to be enough of them and he doesn't seem to put in dominating performances a few goal moments.

I like him and I want him to do well, same applies to Ox, but somehow it feels that the Henderson, Fabinho and Wijnaldum midfield seems to be the only one that works, and we look to be a different side with them in it when one doesn't play we seem to lack something, not sure if that is because they have played together so much or what.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I thought everyone struggled to get their foot on the ball today, the wind was horrendous in the area to be fair. I'd like to see him get consistent game time before judging him but his assist won us the game.

There is no value in selling him and we cant buy what he potentially offers. Fed up of it and his twitter fanbois.

If we were after a player from a German club who would take him as part of a deal knowing his form in the league and a decent swap could be done i'd be happy with it.

Overall, I think he's been okay. Not great, but not poor either. Like I said some time ago, he seems to be able to come up with a key pass, intercept, goal, tackle, dribble etc then revert back to a fairly ordinary performance. We need to find a way to give him the confidence to do that regularly throughout the game, rather than a one or two standout moments. On today, was I the only one wondering if he could understand the instructions Henderson was giving to him when Henderson came onto the pitch?

I thought he was starting to play really well when he was starting last season prior to the injury in the Barca game. Whilst he hasn't reached the fluidity this season, he had a good patch around the Club World Cup where he scored a few and started building. Ever since then he's not played more than 2 consecutive games and I think it's hard for him to get momentum. It's hard for Klopp to justify it because his okay performances don't give him enough reason to leave Henderson, Wijnaldum or Oxlade Chamberlain out. Given rumours of form in training and an assist today, I hope we start him the next 3 games or so he has a sustained chance to prove himself. I feel that next season will be make or break and we should give him the biggest chance of being a success.

If he puts together another season like this next season, I think we should sell - we'll easily be able to recoup a large amount the outlay. I wouldn't consider him a flop, more so indifferent which would be a disappointment given his obvious quality. He'll have a good career regardless, hopefully it's for us and not elsewhere. Think he'd be excellent in Spain with the right club.

I think he is too expensive for us now. They missed out on CL though so could force it?

I’m a fanboy and willing to wait - the one big surprise for me is that he lacks bite. He had a reputation for being fiesty in Germany and here he looks timid. Our system curbs his natural inclination to wander so he is having to be more disciplined which negates a look of what he was known for.

The City game was the first time he lost a EPL game he was involved in......can’t be that bad

We'll make it work, may need to hire Juve's accountants to get it through. Sign him for 100m then sell Naby for 75m the next day. Might as well throw in Leon Bailly for an extra 10 or so

He seemed to get a booking every time I tuned in when he was at Leipzig.

It was a cracking assist today but he frustrated me again overall. He's clearly a huge talent but we're not getting the best out of him. Just imagine if he was replicating his Leipzig levels, he could take us even to another level.
I've been pretty consistent on him. He simply doesn't affect the game enough. I thought it might have been lack of confidence (he's shy) but I'm not sure he'll step into it. Definitely a player there in the right team though.

What's his English like now? There was a suggestion a while ago that he didn't speak English and was having trouble communicating with team mates (apologies if I have got this wrong), does anyone know if this has improved at all?

Read it somewhere that this is not an issue anymore & that English has come on in leaps & bounds since the lockdown too...We even saw that "Lad" comment from Naby when the group gatecrashed VVD interview with BT Sport after the City/Chelsea game

Being fair to him, he played ok today, but the lack of quality movement ahead of him didn’t help him or any of our midfield.
You think hes still adapting 2 years into being here? 3 years into knowing he would sign for us?

I really like him, but its getting obvious he wont fit as well into the system as we want. I keep thinking like you "Next game he will be a monster" But he never quite does it. I want him controlling the game, making his mark. But he rarely if ever does it sadly.

That said, id rather we had him than didnt.

Could easily be argued Henderson was still adapting 2 years into being here.
