Of all the social media around that match, this one amused me the most.

I had the same thought. I can’t believe Coutinho isn’t playing for them. It’s been a shambles how they’ve managed him. Griezmann is another case, loads of talent but hardly plays and was bought for a fortune.
              Are we winning?

Not sure about that, Griezmann has made 48 appearances and 41 starts this season. That's a fair amount of football.

Fair enough but his influence on games and end product is nowhere as good as at Athletico. Barca are still guilty of buying him and not knowing what to do with him.

It's a weird trend, particularly in recent seasons. Having plenty of great players but having everything run through Messi so he needs to assist/score almost every single goal. Whilst their squad is ageing, there's plenty left in there and still have better players than almost any other team in the world.

Why do Barca keep putting managers no ones heard of in charge? Someone knocking about at the likes of Betis isn't likely to make the step up to barca and handle all the mega star egos. If they go after the best players then why not go for the best managers?

On a secondary note, I hope that Simone never comes to England. Proper cheating Argie, a worse anti version of fair play than Mourinho. Proper cunt.

Because Messi is the dominant presence and I think since pep they have been afraid to put a top manager in there incase he upsets the tyrant.

Crazy thing is Barca look about 5 or 6 players away and they don't seem to have the slightest clue how to play Griezzer.

I wonder how much better everyone will look once Messi retires / leaves? It will be a lot easier to build around a clear way of playing that isn't give the ball to Messi

                              Just make Messi player manager.

It is not about Messi being a tyrant. They are so desperate for a sense of identity that they rarely appoint top managers. Their managers often have some Barca/ Catalan connection or if they compromise on that they tend to appoint Dutch managers due to the Cruyff connection. The last top managers from outside they appointed was Sir Bobby Robson and Van Gaal in late 1990s.

Frank Rijkaard had just gotten Sparta Rotterdam relegated and he got the Barca job in 2003. It is just the way Barca operate. Unless you think a 15-year-old Messi playing for the B team was bring a tyrant and influencing managerial appointments.

Pep was not a top manager when he was appointed. He was a promising B team coach. Tito Villanova never had a top managerial appointment. Luis Enrique was also not a success at his previous job before he got the Barca appointment.
