I guess better that he misses the FA Cup than the CL then. That’s less promising than I was hoping for. Maybe too soon to know for sure…

That second line was me, not Klopp

Pearce's quote sounded more hopeful at least.

According to Beeb. Klopp changes his tune in every interview

On Fabinho: "I think he will [be OK, for the FA Cup final] but I do not know. We have to have a further assessment."

...probably just trying to keep the Chavs on their toes with our formation/line-up - he'd be a blow if he misses the FA Cup, but if pushed, if it's a risk I'd rather rest him and have him back for the CL final. Real's midfield will mean we need Fab to break up play and protect the back four...

Rice is not even the clear cut best DM at West Ham let alone the Premiership.

Yep we need Fab to help keep Casemiro in check as well in that game.

Watching the Madrid vs city game I was amazed at what a thug casimero is, not much arsed about kicking the ball when you can boot the man instead.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

He can be a fantastic player when he wants to be, spraying the ball about, breaking up play, vocally geeing up players around him, making tackles and what not. Easily one of the best DM in the game when on form.

He also has that utter thug side to his game where he will go out to just break the other team physically and mentally if his midifeld is being overrun or bypassed and he has the physicality to be very effective as a dirty player.

He is basically a thug version of Fabinho.

In terms of the game itself, Fab was having a mare and needed to be subbed.

Liverpool’s Fabinho facing race to be fit for Champions League final

                            Paul Joyce, Northern Football Correspondent
                            Wednesday May 11 2022, 5.00pm, The Times

Fabinho is facing a battle to be fit for Liverpool’s Champions League final against Real Madrid at the end of the month after scans confirmed that he suffered a hamstring strain against Aston Villa.

The Brazil international will miss the FA Cup final against Chelsea on Saturday and Liverpool’s remaining Premier League games against Southampton and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The diagnosis is a significant setback for the Liverpool manager, Jürgen Klopp, who was left downbeat by the sight of the midfielder limping out of the first half of their 2-1 win at Villa Park on Tuesday, which kept the pressure on Premier League leaders Manchester City.

Fabinho pulled up as he sought to win back possession from Philippe Coutinho and immediately signalled to the substitutes’ bench that he felt discomfort. He was replaced by his captain Jordan Henderson after 30 minutes.

The 28-year-old was included in Brazil’s squad for next month’s international fixtures and the national team’s physical trainer, Fábio Mahseredjian, said: “We don’t have all the information yet, but we are optimistic that he will reach the Champions League final.”
