Fantastic news!! My hopes for the world cup now are:

Semi finalists (because 3rd and 4th teams will also have to play their 'final'): Spain, Belgium, Argentina and Portugal.

That will mean the following City players will be out of the Carabao fixture: Laporte, Dias, Silva, Rodri, Cancelo, Foden, Grealish, Alvarez and De Bruyne.

Maybe I will be paying close attention to the world cup after all!

I reckon of the mere 7 players we have going to the World Cup - Alisson, Trent, Konate, VVD, Fabinho, Hendo and Nunez - probably only Alisson, Virg and maybe Nunez are starters. 3 at the most. The rest all fringe players.

Might be a stupid question, but for everyone staying behind, it's business as usual right? No time off. So they'll be going into training everyday etc...?

Some, like Mo, will be over there as pundits for tv stations.

Club is also doing a training camp in Dubai for those not going, so I imagine plenty will be making the trip from Dubai to Qatar to be at games.

Think there is some time off as well.

Doubt there will be a regular day to day at Kirkby going on for some of the five to six week period for the first team squad.
