High levels of technique, skill and vision.. Rather than physicality, power and speed.

    Perhaps.

Dr brunye has all of it. So did Gerrard.

    Complete footballers..

    Uh oh.

I would prefer the term 'liquid footballers'. Completely different animals to 'pure footballers', even 'complete' doesn't quite capture it for me.

He has been amazing on this recent run - now he has “experience” of the PL, should be settled in Liverpool and will have a full pre season behind him I think he is going to dominate the league

            Effortlessly good

Has been so much better since he has developed a relationship with Fab. I think he too has had to learn on the job, and the positional requirements of our formation are complex. But he needs that enforcer next to him. Get Virgil in behind and we will start to look pretty formidable again.

The fact we have achieved top three with, what has to be the most inexperienced Centre Back pairing to ever achieve top three is totally remarkable.

He reminds me of Gary McAllister (albeit a younger version). Popping passes and then digging one out onto someone's foot.

He's been exceptional in this past month - showing his true class - and much better for having Fabinho in there with him.

                  He's still slow as ****.

Really kicked in last 4 or 5 games and shown us just how a world class pass master can be a game changer.

Phenomenal player & a real leader bringing the troops together when we score a goal. Look out other teams next season with our CB leaders back too.

Thiago has been open and honest about his take on football today...

"I have that 'hate modern football' mentality; I'm more classic in attitude. The figure of the No.10 has almost disappeared. We see less magic, less fantasy. Footballers do more but faster.

"There's no need to dribble because you run. Players are more developed in every sense. You lose that player who's different, who 'breathes'; the playmaker who was slower even if he had sublime technique doesn't get the opportunity to turn.

                        “There's also VAR.

"I've always been against it and wish it didn't exist. It takes the essence of the game away from you. It takes away the cunning, the mischief, that is part of football - as long as you don't hurt anyone, of course.

"We make mistakes when we play. Referees must do so too, as they are human. Without trickery, many famous moments in the history of football would not have happened.

"Above all, when we score, even if from midfield, we have to wait, it can be overturned."

Thiago is definitely one of those wise men of football isn't he? Always wants to be there to offer support, level headed, feet on the ground type of character. Alonso was always like that too.

Thiago must have a really calming effect on the squad when he's about. He talks a lot of sense in interviews too, plus he's been shown to have a real affinity with everyone from kids to matchday fans from all those Nivea promotion videos we've seen. A touch of class on and off the pitch it seems.
