Watching some of the clips and it is heartbreaking,great touch from some the ex players to be there such as Hendo,Thiago,Milner and Fabhino also nice from the club to also have a matching wreath ( besides number) for Jota's brother.
Also seen a clip of efc representatives laying flowers at Anfield.

As a United fan my heart breaks for his wife, his 3 very young children and his parents, trying to make sense of all this. Life is brief, sometimes far too brief. I will say this, if there is a club that will rally around them, there is no better one than Liverpool, it's city and people. YNWA.

Them being die hard city fans, and having a large picture of a player in a Liverpool jersey, at their first show back, really says a lot about their character tbf.

It’s a heartwarming tribute for sure. But for me any club rivalry is completely insignificant is in the grand scheme of things. I don’t think it takes any extra special level of compassion or benevolence just because they’re City fans and Diogo played for Liverpool.

Footage of Ruben Neves last night in absolute bits during the minutes silence for his Club World Cup game in the US, having to be consoled. He’s then flown back to Portugal over night to be a pall bearer at the brothers funeral. Cancelo also looked to be struggling.

Lots of our squad past and present are in attendance.

His presence would have ended up dominating so don’t mind that he took that decision, I personally don’t feel inclined to go after any players on the back of this for how they react and respond.

They’ll reprocess and re-evaluate those memories as they grow older but those initial captures will have been from a toddler’s perspective. They’ll grow up never knowing a father who clearly doted on them and who by all accounts was a great guy. They say the most difficult part of being a parent is setting an example for your kids to follow. It’s incredibly sad that those kids don’t get a chance to follow his.

The only consolation for them is that they would've probably been used to being away from him quite a bit. Doesn't really soften the blow of course.
