They’ll grow up never knowing a father who clearly doted on them and who by all accounts was a great guy. They say the most difficult part of being a parent is setting an example for your kids to follow. It’s incredibly sad that those kids don’t get a chance to follow his.
100% , was talking about this with my son earlier. Probably up to 5 or 6 for those memories to be more lucid.

In time they will be able to get a flavour of their Dads and his amazing personality from the amount of content their is of him online. But those private personal memories will be elusive. It’s devastating… They are too young to even be able to properly process what is going on right now.

    It still feels surreal…

It’s hard to imagine how his wife and parents are coping with all of this.

It feels more emotional every day. I've tried not to watch too much but it's hard to avoid. I'm not sure how the players, friends and families kept it together so well. Everytime I see his face and think of what's been lost, I tear up. The likes of Robertson, Virgil and Ali are going to vital for the younger players.

I don't think it is right to ask why people were or weren't there. Everyone grieves in their own way, I am sure this and their own and the family's wishes were all considered in making these decisions
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I mean, I agree that it’s obvious that club rivalry is completely insignificant, and would agree about it not being any extra special level of compassion, if it was something like them signing the book of condolences, or sharing a post.

But when you consider that they were having their comeback show, and they thought it was important to have a tribute to Jota in it, turning the mood in the stadium from raucous to somber- I think that’s a really classy, touching gesture. And then I think extra cudos for having the picture of him specifically in a Liverpool kit. Just saying- credit where it’s due.

I am still struggling to come to grips with this tragedy.
Throughout my years of following football and sport in general, there have been a number of tragedies, but this just feels different. It feels like I have lost a family member. Diogo was one of these lads who just connected with everyone around him. Everyone loved him. Humble, unassuming, decent.
                  It's incomprehensible to me.

If we, the supporters feel like this, I don't even know if I could imagine how his close friends, team mates and family feel.
His wife, kids, parents - i have no words. I prey they find the strength to deal with this tragedy.

I know the club will honour him in the appropriate manner.

                  RIP Diego and Andre

                    Nicely articulated.

I struggle a bit to reconcile the fact that he’s dead with the fact that this also means we won’t see him play for us ever again. I see footage of him and am reminded what a thoroughly decent human being he is (was ) and that he is dead and that this means we don’t ever see him again. And round and round it goes.

It’s not an emotion we are used to with our relationships with the idols from our team. It’s new and that means it will take a bit of processing.

I think this has all also made me realise I dont need the poison that often comes with supporting a football team. I’ve never really been in it for that.

Seeing the love Jota had from his rivals makes you realise what a special person he was but also that the rivalry is fine, the poison, vitriol and hatred for me is not.

                        From trent...

"I had to try to perform for the team and help them win the game, no matter how difficult it was," Alexander-Arnold told DAZN after the game.
"As hard as it was to do it, I had to push myself to focus on what my job and role was. I tried to do it as best as I could, but it was difficult and I am not going to lie about that.

                        All about him. Sickening.

Let’s not pelt him for a small snippet of what he said, out of context.

He spoke about Diogo for nearly 2 minutes, then said that quote, after being asked directly about his performance.

No - But as he said - Spent 5 years in the dressing room with him and stayed in the US. Loads in the US travelled over, TBF he can't win as the same can be side about current LFC players that did not travel
