Yeah, he's not ****e. He's reached a level that 99% of those who kick a ball will never reach.

There's obviously something exceptional there. Unfortunately for us neither Klopp, Slot and Nunez himself were able to fully unlock it during his time with us.

As such he has been a ****e signing for us.

The same could be said for their supply line.

So have all the attackers dropped off or is the level of service they get not as good as earlier in the season?

Probably a mix of both I suspect.

Do think that we as fans have been nit picking the team a bit more than the team deserves. We all know they had run themselves into the ground and as such performances waned, but at the same time we are talking about a team that is showing that it can win ugly/tired as often as it can win when on top form.

Hence why I said it’s a slight concern.

I don’t think it’s nitpicking, just talking about stuff

Yes, it's clear that there has been a general drop off in intensity across the team. I think this is partly due to fatigue but not entirely. I imagine that the players and staff have needed to dust themselves down re-examine their goals and motivations after a short period of time when the potential for four trophies rapidly became the foregone conclusion of one. It's disappointing as we'd all prefer to romp to the title with swashbuckling and dynamic football but that's not what anyone will remember from this season. Let's just get the title wrapped up and go again for all four next season.

Nitpicking might have been harsh, but do think we, me probably more than most, are guilty of finding fault in the team, though the flip side of that is that we are just noticing areas of said team where we think improvements could be made.

Was certainly not trying to dismiss your take (especially when stats and eye tests completely back a recent drop off in return) or stifle a conversation, hence me trying to debate you a little on it rather than just giving a more glib reply to what you said.

True, but I wonder if we finished the season with say four dominant perfromances/results in a row after the Spurs game, would we see the media being a bit more gushing about us.

Often think the hard yards put in earlier in a title winning season get forgotten and the final month is how the media ranks a title winning team.

What I do find a bit amusing is how the narrative of a weak league is still being peddled. Saw elsewhere the past few days how our points tally for the amount of games played compares to those of Man City and Arsenal at the same point for the previous two seasons.

Last season, and amazing season according to the media, sees both City and Arsenal having less points after the same amount of games to what we have now.

The season before, another amazing"strong" season", saw Arsenal with less points than we have now after the same number of games and City on the same amount of points as us.

But somehow us racking up the point tally we have this season is somehow being viewed as a "lesser" achievement.

It seems to me that there is some confusion among pundits about this season. They seem to conflate the lack of a title race with a lack of general quality in the league. The two are not the same, to my mind at least.

We point to leagues like those in Scotland, France and The Netherlands and consider them as being weak due to the inability of middling and lower teams to take points off of those at the top. The result being that Celtic, PSG and Ajax almost always win their respective titles but appear poorly conditioned, as a result of too many easy league games, for elite European football. This season in the EPL couldn't be further from that set of events. If you look at the table now, after 33 games, and compare it to last season at the same point, virtually every position from 9th down has more points than last season, sometime by quite a bit. This shows that the league this season has been very strong and competitive all the way down.

The part that doesn't scan so well is that we have been denied a proper title race as one club has appeared immune to dropping points unnecessarily which has resulted in a yuuge gap between 1st and 2nd. That doesn't mean the league this season wasn't competitive or, was in some way, worse than previous years. No, it means we blew the competition away so decisively that the spectacle of the league title became worse. This is an entirely different scenario to what is being levelled against us.

Ah, leave Darwin alone, you lot! His numbers are probably better than Benteke, Borini, Lambert, and Balotelli put together! I had high hopes for this guy, probably because I was spoiled by his fellow Uruguayan predecessor.
I am disappointed that we as a club didn't do more for Darwin, like getting a finishing specialist like Rushie or Fowler to help him or a sports psychologist to get into his head to show him where he's at!
Anyway, it is where it is & probably Adios, Darwin & good luck to ya!

Would not be pushing for Fowler as any kind of coach going by his track record as a manager

Think the biggest issue with Nunez is one a good few folk on here have pointed to, and that is how we are set up as a team.

Think in a team where the wide men go down the touchline more and provide crosses and cut backs we would see a very different Nunez. He seemed to thrive at getting on the end of quickly played balls where an instinctive touch would then send the ball goalward.

Think at a club like Forest, City or even Arsenal we would see Nunez scoring more than he has with us as he would be the tip of the attack rather than having to be part of the supporting cast to the main attacker.

Always said he'll score goals and he will when he leaves for whomever but he's nowhere near the level required at LFC and he is not good enough at the top level to build a team around.

Joking aside and you can't blame me with Harv in fairness, best or luck to him wherever he goes I'm sure he'll do fine and to resurrect his career he does need to make a move. For me, he has been such a disappointment and I've been shocked just how poor he is technically and at his lack of game intelligence and composure. His instinctual finishing and his work rate are his best assets and will serve him in certain setups, he's just not good enough for LFC unfortunately.
