He does. That's why he is getting three or four chances a game. Problem seems to be that a lot of his runs are not picked up upon when he makes them so he is doing what he did a lot with his old team (going by his heat maps anyway) and that is going left a lot. Though so far him going left a lot seems to be allowing Diaz to cut inside more as a central defender tends to follow Nunez when he goes wider at the edge of the box.
Put him in the same team as someone like Thiago for a spell of games and I think you might see his runs being noticed more be it directly by Thiago or through Thiago playing a fast pass to the player than then puts Nunez in.
Actually think if Keita was not made of digestive biscuits that he would relish Nunez playing in front of him. Just recalling how Keita played when he had Werner in an advanced position ahead of him at Leipzig and how Werner tended to drift left a lot.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Hate to say it but he looks like a competition winner out there sometimes
I do think he's a bit nervous and in his own head a bit. When he was running down the right wing yesterday he looked like he was in one of those dreams where you're playing footie at Anfield and your legs don't work.
Think he will come good but he needs games/a goalSack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

So let me get this straightOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostMissed a bit of a sitter again. Sure, it wasn’t super easy to adjust for, but you pay the big books for strikers who score them.

Youre all going to nitpick on Nunez's finishing and write him off after about 4 games....but all happily sat through 5 years of Salah, Mane and Firmino missing just as easy chances.
Like do you actually remember Mane? The guy couldn't hit a cow arse with a banjo at times. He was ****ing shocking in front of goal at times.
and don't get me started on everyones favourite number 9. He of 1 goal a season at home."When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah
"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey

Still beats our past number 9 who went an entire season without a goal home or away in any competition.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I thought he was good last night. He should have hit the target with that chance, but at least he gets in the right positions. The goals will come.
His all around game is far too sloppy though. I'd hope it can be improved, but it will always be a weak part of his game I guess. I can live with that if he scores enough goals.

I’ve been critical of him in match threads but most of that is reactionary in the moment. I think he’s played like the equivalent of 4 games including the charity shield so we absolutely cannot judge him on that as a sample size. There are many mitigating factors which are contributing to his apparent poor start - coming into a side that is at its lowest ebb for years, a disjointed midfield behind him, being suspended for three games, not starting games so lacking rhythm. All of these are probably building pressure up in him and he’s looked really flustered
But
I’ve seen some touches from him that have been carthorseish, I’ve seen him woefully misplace what seems to be simple passes, we’ve seen him roll in the ground and bitch to the ref. All of that is vastly at odds with what I saw from him vs us at Anfield where he looked the real deal
We don’t tend to get it wrong on signings (ahem Naby and Ox) and I think he needs time to integrate into the team. I still don’t know exactly what he is because he seems to have more shots per game than passes! We’ve seen vs City that he can be a real threat so we need to be patient
In addition, Haaland setting the world on fire adds more to the pressure but I imagine if Nunez was in the City side he’d have 7 or 8 goals now. They are creating tap in chances for him to finish and a couple of pens
Loads of time but the biggest thing is he seems to know where to be yo get that chances. Now he needs to relax and finish them!

I do find it interesting that a lot of people compare Nunez to Haaland but most of the other big name/expensive attacking signing this summer rarely if ever get bench marked against Haaland.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostI’ve been critical of him in match threads but most of that is reactionary in the moment. Not a dig at you Nev, but noticed it in the media a lot be it online, on radio shows or on tv. Nunez gets mentioned and straight away someone comapres him to Haaland. Haaland gets mentioned and straight away the talk is of Nunez failing to score in X games despite the fact he was suspended for three of the games that get used as examples of him not getting goals.
I rarely if ever hear Jesus, Sterling, Antony, Richarlison or Isak getting compared with how Haaland is doingI don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Of course they get compared and will continue to do so - two big rivals sign new target man esque centre forwards for big money. Of course there will be narrative around it and I’ve no doubt Nunez feels it alsoOriginally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostI do find it interesting that a lot of people compare Nunez to Haaland but most of the other big name/expensive attacking signing this summer rarely if ever get bench marked against Haaland.
