Is there any chat about him pre LFC in the general football thread (pre-Benfica CL).

I'm presuming not after a full 10 seconds perusing

Anyhow the reason I ask is because when scouring oppo sites for their various views whilst avoiding doing any work, I noticed that he featured on Red Cafe ages before most of us had ever come across him.

He wasn't particularly rated and there was no consensus to sign him which I thought was interesting, even though they were clearly all wrong and he's obviously getting 50 goals a season for the next 4 years

Re Nunez - last season was his breakout year and tbh I’d seen the usual YouTube stuff which can make anyone look good tbh. He look v good vs us at Anfield and seemed to be an excellent finisher even though he was offside.

To be honest I’m a bit surprised at how raw he looks on the training videos - I trust our recruitment but there is a small amount of doubt in my mind. We normally look for a bigger sample size of minutes in a top league. Our hit rate is practically perfect so let’s hope it continues

Have to agree, And although Youtube can make anyone look good, You can find some real horror shows of his control on Youtube too! I do foresee some Sterling type misses this season.

Yes in the CL he looked like a world beater and hopefully is, I was interested that a few of them seemed to have taken notice at quite an early juncture. I think one of them even reckoned there was some possible link as a Utd signing but it seemed a bit tenuous IIRC.
