Sorry, Colemere, I can see you are too.

    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Yes we are but there's no point attempting to discuss it in this thread is it?

1703: I'm still in shock at the state of Dunst. That radiant young lady of the upside-down kiss is no more - she has withered away to a sunken-cheeked Shoreditch type. Shame on you Borrell! Get a few Whoppers down her neck. Prior gets one for a cracking drive but is unable to divert a lifter one from Powell. 446-5

Prior about to bring up his ton - a sterling effort on his debut. 97 not out, with Bell on the same score.

Oh, yeah, I can see that. Then again, you just could.

Ah well, it's nice I have an air of mystery to some.

                  It was a straightforward apology.

I thought you were both messing about.

                      Prior has his ton.

Bell had a 58 run start on Prior yet the debutant reached his ton first.

Bell is a tidy touch batsman, but he's ****ing boring to watch.

He has been a brilliant anchor for a lot of our first inningses though. If he could replicate that in the second (where he has an average of about 25) then he would be a key part of the team.

And at least they both made it.

Aye, agreed. He's just not my type of batsman....and I'm unsure about his temperament too. He gets out too often between 50-90. Good scores of course, but he should convert more of them.

Mind you KP is our worst culprit for that...

Bell is a very old type of test player that is becoming more and more rare as the scoring rates are increasing in this form of the game. However it is always handy to have him there as a mainstay in order for others like Peiterson and Prior to throw the sink at the ball and look to score quickly.

At least by having a consistent at one end of the pitch then it means that the pressure is slightly eased as there are rarely two new batsmen at the crease with a player like Bell tying down an end.

EDIT: Good point about his temprement, he has 4 of his 6 centuries at number six, this could be a mental thing for him or he just doesn't handle the new ball as well. Similarly he can play well against bowlers with lesser reputation but someone with a reputation can cause him problems with similar balls to a lesser known bowler.
