But if Pietersen is still getting grief from his achilles, then maybe a rest would be beneficial...same with Freddie and his knee...altho with 10 days (i think) till the next test, i expect both players to be ok.
I was just taking the piss really. Pietersen annoys me and I always end up venting my frustration here. He's a good player but he's a moron and that'll never change. As far as I've seen there is no one we could replace him with who would reliably be better anyway.

Fitness permitting he will certainly play.

said on the radio, the only reason he is playing is becuase its the Ashes and he is playing with an injury, hence why he is playing so bad.

He's been playing the same for most of the time he has been in the team as far as I can tell.

                .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Pietersen is out for the rest of the series, has had an operation on his injury.

                  Explains his poor form.

So there's zero new talent coming through in England then, and we've had to go back players that have tried and failed already?

Don't know really. Is the Ashes really the place to try new talent though? Bell was part of the 2005 winning team wasn't he? I think. I do agree to an extent though that this England squad seems pretty hard to get out of once you are in it.
