The entire thing may not of been bent sure, but a lot of the biggest fights were extremely questionable, it was very much like the WWF with its heros and anti heros, Japanese versus Foreigners (American/ Russian) and its widely accepted that the Yakuza ran the entire thing one of the main reasons the UFC has done very little in Japan. Fedor is managed by Russian Mafia and Pride is run by Japanese Yakuzo .. Fedor mainly fought in Russia and Japan ... I dont think its beyond the pale to suggest that may have something to do with his success ... * I am huge Pride FC fan and Fedor but many many fighters have thrown a lot of the results into question implying they were paid to take a fall
Not saying this is the case but it's a distinct possibility

Theres also the fact he did nearly all of his fighting in Japan and Russia.... two places known for heavy match fixing ... Pride was practically WWF at times

The best description i heard of Fedor was he was a light heavy fighter who ruled the heavyweight division.
Still the GOAT in my opinion. Re watched Fedor vs Cro Cop the other night. Two heavyweight behemoths at their absolute peak. If that were a UFC fight it'd sell seventy bazillion....instead UFC are offering up Rousey vs **** knows who. Anyhow i digress that's a totally separate issue....
Always a shame to see great exponents of any sporting discipline who're unable to stay away. One argument i read, and i've no idea how much credence is in it, is that Fedor whilst physically declining also struggled to adjust to fighting in a cage.

Aye I know(although I think Anderson is GOAT
)
But hes really had a rough time of it Fedor, the three Strikeforce losses weren't great for him. I just dont think he'll pull up any trees in a pretty average division.
I think Werdum beats him again, and I think Sea Level Cain would too, there's some nice matches out there an Arlovski rematch or even a Cro Cop one, but I think he'll end up a mid-rancked fighter and would've have loved to see him there much more in his prime.

The snowball of Fedor in the UFC gathering massive pace now.
Another Meh in a pretty meh division. Not the fighter he was.

It's a tough one, throwing people to Rousey is all they can do at the moment, it's miles to early for Holm but it's the only fight minus Cyborg which is interesting at the moment.
If anything has removed some of my faith in the UFC it's the Reebok deal, I think it's ****house.

I dont get what Rousey is supposed to do? What alternative do you see? She goes into retirement for a year until they can find someone credible? Its not her fault shes dominant.

Early doors it was just about fights .. good fights .. they put on the fights people wanted to see and the fights stood on there own two feet .. Now every single fight has some drama attached .. fighters are calling people out in press conferences .. nothing fights are being put on time and time again like this latest public training session parading as a main event with Rousey Holm ... everything boxing is and Dana White said the UFC would never become ... then the sold their soul to the the Devil ....FOX Sports and everything went to **** ...Dont get me wrong i still love the sport and enjoy the UFC ... but no where near as much as I used to .... Dana's big dream is to turn the UFC into the NFL ... well clap clap clap ... well done ... games every week and none of them really matter till the play offs ... but I am sure the bean counters are very happyOriginally posted by ntto View Posthows that?
