Masvidals entrance music is making me feel like I'm watching the film Drive.
This song must be on that soundtrack.

He's very fun to watch, and has mastered his style, considering he started off very much as a counter striker. The thing about Conor I've always found is even though he's talented very fight so far(maybe minus Siver) you expect he's found his level and he always overcomes it, he has massive power in that left and his favourite way of throwing it is stepping in with it when people are against the cage.
The other fascinating thing about him is the mental aspect, Chad was on top of him smashing him with elbows and Conor was asking him over and over again if it's all he had, calling him a little man. He's like a more talented Diaz brother and I think it genuinely puts people off, like the effect Ronda had on the women.
This fight here is interesting, last fight on Benson's UFC contract and he's openly expressed that he might just give it a chance on the free agent market due to the money he's losing in the Reebok deal. If he moved to somewhere like Bellator it would be huge for them

Just watching the trailer and realising I've never actually seen a McGregor fight. I dip in and out of MMA and seemed to have always missed him.
He certainly looks tidy.

I reckon Judo is still the most lethal of all the arts when used properly and combined with other stuffs.

Round 1 I was getting the Foxtel Go working, so can't judge. But what I did see looked fairly even.
2 was definitely Mina, I wonder how much the low blow (definitely accidental) caused the swing, but he smashed him. Before that was sexy.
3 was definitely Sexy, Mina was utterly ****ed, the tank was beyond empty.

It was! Will be interesting to see the exact scores though, Sexyama 100% took round 3, could've been been a 10-8!
I think he took 1 and 3.

I walked away to the gents and missed the result.
Absolutely cracking fight, but guessing it was given to Mina from your reaction?

Nobody's said he's one of the greats!Originally posted by meffin View PostTim Sylvia was UFC champion- it isn't the sign of a great fighter. Regardless of how crap the division is, there is always a champ.
Also, there are guys with FAR better at BJJ than Mir. He's a black belt and has good BJJ for MMA- but again that doesn't make him great. Its just 1 aspect. Like saying XYZ is a great fighter because he punches hard
Thing is, its not picking holes in it. You just have to look at it from a far to see its nothing special.
And your final arguments are so weak its hardly worth responding but i will anyway. Comparing him to 4 of the best ever MMA/Boxers around is laughable
Silva won that fight without trying and was unbeaten for 7 (?) years- yep, him and Mir are practically identical...
JBJ- Arguably the most talented fighter around at the moment- only loss is via a DQ and has beaten some big names along the way- Fair enouh was luck with the decision- again, his career is almost identical to Mir's
I said I used to love watching him because his submissions were nasty. On his day, back then, his ground game was one of the best in the heavyweight division. At his best he was never average, but then he wasn't a great either, his fights were exciting and he had something else few of the big guys had.

If you're going to pick holes in peoples resumes the. It could be done with just about every fighter whose ever stepped foot in the octogon or boxing ring.
Mayweather - cherry picked, ran from Paul Williamz
Pacquio - got KTFO against Marquez and steroids
Anderson Silva - Did you see the Damian Maia fight? Oh and Steroids
Jon Jones - Gustaveson beat him and he's only beat people towards the end of their career. Prime Rua would have monstered him oh and he's a heavyweight fighting at light heavy
Etc etc etc
