If LSU had a proper QB they'd be a team. Even Les couldn't stop them winning.

USC are better than the Bruins. Don't let those wins over Houston and Texas (I mean, Iowa State anyone?) fool you. They leak plenty of points and don't score many. Last couple of weeks they've been appalling. Cal beat them easily and SC destroyed Cal.

It's SC's defence that has cost them. They've lost twice, both by less than a FG and both times giving up over 30 points. And they've won twice whilst giving up over 20 points. They average over 37 points themselves, but can't keep people out of their EZ. If their front four can't put up effective pass pressure, then decent QBs (see Locker and Luck) have torched their secondary. Teams are averaging almost three bills against them in the air. It's ridiculous. They have a lot of new starters back there, but even Shareece Wright has been rubbish. They looked better against Cal though, really stifled them. So who knows. I suspect USC might struggle against the run. LaMichael James ran all over them in Eugene last year, and the Ducks are killing teams on the run this year. They have three genuine threats with James, Alston and Thomas.

If the Ducks run the schedule and Alabama win all their remaining games, TCU and Boise will get punished by Harris and the coaches. Punished. The whole system is so fraudulent, on a human and systematic level.

Frankly, if TCU get ranked above Boise it's bull****. Boise have won 20 straight games, including wins over Oregon, Oregon State, VA Tech and TCU. They've won 54 of their last 58 games, including two BCS Bowl wins over TCU and Oklahoma. They've beaten Oregon twice in the last three seasons. Baffles me how TCU get ranked above them, even if they beat Utah next week.

And the BCS computers are bull****. Pure and simple. On the computer results alone they rank Oklahoma 5 and Alabama 12. That's retarded. They rank Missouri 2 and Michigan St 3. Hell, they rank Wisconsin over Bama. Developing models that run purely on single year schedules is pointless. You might aswell just have the human polls. Nothing about the system is satisfactiry until they work out some sort of eight team play-off system around the BCS series.

Is there a point where we actually start to pity the Cowboys 2010 season?

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

I also cheered when Big Ben fumbled. Although, like his other more illicit fumblings, officials didn't seem to see it correctly. Free handed cunt that he is.

Les needs to fire the offensive coordinator Gary Crowton! If we had a QD and a offensive coordinator there is no telling how far we would go.

I haven't seen USC this season so I'll wait until this weekend to comment further.

Boise's schedule is too weak and the fact of the matter is TCU and the Ducks have quality games coming up. You see how auburn jumped the BCS polls after beating LSU.

I hear what you're saying but based on strength is schedule if TCU and the Ducks win out they're in IMO. Alabama won't jump then even if they win the rest of the way especially if there are 3 undefeated teams which seems like it could happen, the NCAA wouldn't take that chance.

The NCAA don't really have a say. The polls are still the biggest factor, and by the end of the season the computers will be liking Alabama again if they go unbeaten. If the Ducks win out they're obviously in. They'll do well in the polls and the computer. I'm not sure I agree on TCU's schedule anyway. Come the end of the season a win over Utah won't mean much. Boise still have to play Hawaii, Fresno and Nevada, and the computers won't punish them too much for that. Both sides should go to BCS games though, assuming they don't slip up and lose. It'll jsut be a matter of one of them relying on an at-large invitation (don't be dreadfully surprised if they end up playing each other for a third straight year)

The other factor with TCU is, what if Utah lose twice? Same thing that is happening to Boise with VA Tech and Nevada will happen to them. Utes have to play Air Force, Notre Dame (at South Bend), and BYU on top of TCU. Not unthinkable they lose two. And beating Utah won't jump TCU up like Auburn beating LSU did anyway. Hell, Utah are unbeaten and they're still only just scraping into the top ten. They'll be irrelevant come December if TCU beat them. The VA Tech thing looked a disaster to Boise, but if they win the ACC things will look better. VA Tech will have wins over NCS, Miami (probably) and Florida State (probably). That can only help Boise.

Alabama are still the best side in college football, and they'll run out the SEC. I think it'll be a hard sell to the polls to place Boise or TCU above them come the end if that happens. Just look at some of the mad **** the polls do in early weeks - two weeks ago TCU beat BYU and Oklahoma beat Iowa State (pre Texas win) and the Sooners jumped over TCU in the polls that week. That makes absolutely no sense. Imagine what will be happening near the end of the season if the possibility looms of either side beating out a very strong BCS team to the national. The polls will go nuclear on them. And if Alabama finish 12-1 (winning the SEC) and hand an 11-1 Auburn their only defeat, then it's probable the computers will jump them over Boise and TCU. And winning the SEC will obviously boost them massively in the final Harris and USAT polls.

Everything that has happened to their advantage (i.e. Oklahama, Nebraska, Michigan etc all losing) has also been to Bama's advantage. I think all of them now want Oregon to lose.

It could be terribly tight at the end of the schedule, with hundredths (if not thousandths) of percentage points deciding top five.

Virginia Tech lost to James Madison, that will hurt Boise down the road big time.

If TCU beat Utah and Utah finished the season with that as their only loss TCU is in. Utah is ranked number 8 tight now and if they beat Air Force away from home this weekend they will jump to number 6 after Nebraska beats Missouri and Michigan loses at Iowa (yes I'm calling to upsets!).

I'll also predict that LSU beats Bama in an upset and Bama beats Auburn, but even if Bama runs the table I can't see them beating out potentially 3 highly ranked undefeated teams especially if South Carolina loses again (they already lost to Kentucky!)

With the teams that Oregon has left to play if they win out there are in the BCS championship game no questions asked.

You're probably right. Nebraska and Iowa are line favourites in both games, mind. And rightly so.

Les will have two weeks to prepare for Bama, so you know he will have readied a hatful of mad **** for them.

It seems like my Oregon v TCU prediction is on track for the time being.

TCU need to get past Utah and the Ducks past the Beavers those are the only obstacles I see for them.
