Ridiculous call by the officials. If you fumble a ball out of bounds you get to keep possession where you went out of bounds. So CJ leaves the ball on the floor out the back of the end zone and it doesn't count?Originally posted by yellowbelly74 View PostGod the Bears were awful today. They hung on to win by 5 but with 24 seconds to go Detroit had a perfectly good touchdown overruled. It look perfectly good to me but the commentators said it was overruled for some process rule. Would be interested to see what others on here thought about it if anyone happens to see the highlights. Not sure what team Cutler thinks he's with but he is hanging on to the ball WAY too long with an Offensive Line which cannot protect him. It's going to be a long, long season.
Bears were their own worst enemy though. They racked up three times the Lions yardage and yet did **** all with it. Turnovers killing them again.

Decade? You'll be lucky if he's got another 3 or 4 years at the top.Originally posted by tommyg View PostJohnson showed signs of why he's gonna be one of the most talented and explosive running backs in the game for the next decade hopefully
Running backs have a very short career. A good running back can put up great numbers over 4 or 5 years and then they'll fall off the cliff. Look at the great running backs over the last ten or so years Alexander, Thomlinson, Holmes. Sure you get the odd freak like Smith who can just run and run and run but Johnson's not built like Smith.

As I get older I find the NFL more contrived. Unrelated sport but I cannot stand the NBA for much the same reason. Years of brain washing render the NFL more resistant to the effects of maturation.Originally posted by peekay View PostIt is very difficult to get into college football unless you went to uni here or lived in college towns in south US like Texas, Louisiana, Florida. Belichick is thinking long game though. He ****ing loves him some draft picks. They gave a fourth for Moss and received a third for him, and now have two picks in each of the first four rounds next year. That gives them a lot of cards if they want to trade for, say, Jackson, who would be cheaper than signing Moss to a new big contract (especially if there is no football next season, as Jackson is younger - a lockout means Moss is 35 the next time he plays after this season).

The Ducks are well capable of stumbling against someone though. It would be typical of the Trojans to ruin them (although nothing about their defence this season suggests they will do anything other than take a raping).
I think Michigan State have a realistic chance of going unbeaten, which is interesting. And would throw the BCS into chaos. And a one loss Alabama gets ranked above TCU or Boise I reckon. Especially as they'll have wins over Auburn and LSU if they run the schedule from here. Of course, if Auburn win the Iron Bowl... (and Cam Newton is seperating himself from the field in the Heisman)
TCU-Utah will be a good game next week. TCU's defence should decide that.

I haven't seen USC this season so I can't comment, but I doubt they are much better than UCLA who the Ducks gave a proper beating.Originally posted by Hollowman View PostThe Ducks are well capable of stumbling against someone though. Michigan State and especially Boise State will have a severe strentgh of schedule problem.
Auburn will lose to Alabama. Auburn's defense is absolute ****, it's just that LSU has NO QB who could take advantage.
If TCU beats Utah then they can book their ticket, their schedule is just about strong enough as it is and beating Utah will just top it off.
