i try to get into it - i understand the sport, i like a lot of the action but i still get annoyed with the endless stoppages
kick off - hoof it, leg after it, all jump into a big pile on, whistle blows, all run off and cut to adverts/studio for 5 mins
as it's on a sunday, and usually on late, i find i try to start watching, but start getting tired, and get frustrated with the breaks in play and go to bed.
Also i find not having any real affinity to any players or teams affects my interest as well
i've 'picked' my NFL team
- Miami Dolphins - but i couldn't tell you anything about them, their history/players/rivals/how they are getting on and they never ever seem to be on when i decide i'll give it a watch
reasons for picking them are good though
1 - I've been to Miami
2 - I bought a souvenir Miami Dolphins helmet for my parents
3 - Ace Ventura pet detective/Dan Marinoi own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

The holding penalties is something I will never understand. The referees could really throw a flag every play because players do it every play.Originally posted by Alex View PostReally getting into the sport now. Its nice not to be involved in the outside **** that goes on like football. Just concentrate on the joy of the sport.
Understanding more and more each week too. Its not the most accessible sport for beginners eh!
Not even the so called experts out there understand when a hold is a hold and when it isn't.
I just hope that the superbowl this season isn't decided by a ref that **** himself like last time when Ravens won.Stop the cyberhate

from now on I will skip talking about our finances. That is a promise and will save myself from looking like a

What a fantastic game between Cowboys and Broncos
Will go down as one of the all time classics. A game that will be talked about a long time.
A fantastic, excellent game that will make you
time after time after time.

Manning's fake hand off at the end of the 2nd quarter was a highlight for me. I didn't get to watch the whole game though.
I've been following the Broncos this season and they have been excellent so far. I did wonder whether the Broncos winning run was going to end when the Cowboys took an early 14 lead.
I fear for Jacksonville next week.

**** no. And they're kidding themselves on if they think people would. Thousands of people at the Wembley games wear all sorts of jerseys. Everyone already has a team but goes to the games as a sort of universal event. No way they find 90k supporters for a new franchise.Originally posted by Alex View PostJacksonville are the franchise most likely to come over here right? Bloke who owns Fulham owns them.
Would people switch allegiance to a UK based team if it ever came about?
A team 2000 miles from any other team is dumb anyway. The year their division is paired with a west coast division would mean an insane road schedule for everyone involved.
Better off working on LA's obsession with the Coliseum and packing the Jags off west. Better TV market for the league too.

Thought as much. Plus the travel would be insane like you say. But would it be much different than a team going east to west? Surly they could put the team who travel to London on a bye the next week.
I like the idea of a franchise over here. But after getting invested in the Colts, I dont think id switch.*Except Michael, who died.

It wouldn't be a problem for opponents, who'd only have to do it once, but the London team would play eight games with a minimum 4000 mile trip, twice that if they're heading to the west coast. They can't have a bye after every road game. Even if they did their road games in clusters it would be a logistical nightmare as they have so many.
And I just don't think the desire is there. I wouldn't go to see them play. I like seeing different teams, meeting the travelling American fans (even if they are all white and 40-65). Not interested in a new team. I'm swerving the Jags game this year, just because - meh. The Jags? Come on.

Is there not even an argument for them playing the 8 Home games in a block and then the next 8 Away based out of the US? Have a training camp in Jacksonville for the remainder?
I cant see it happening soon, but everything I read seems to think it will at some point. Who knows. I guess you have more of a feel for this than me anyway as I am quite new to it all.*Except Michael, who died.
