Eddie making a cunt of himself then, again. He's got to be seriously careful he doesnt piss off every UK/Irish guy not associated with matchroom, he's looking like an amateur at the moment.

Hope that gets signed and sealed soon. That is a pairing I would like to see go at it in the ring. Would have the potential to be a classic small man pairing.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Team Frampton unsurprisingly dont appreciate Hearn's latest publicity stunt. He's going to end up pissing Khan off in the same way, his negotiating "skill" seems to be to just try and bait the other team in the ring after fights or on SSN.
On a completely unrelated noted, isn't it funny how apples never fall far from the tree upon which they grew?

The fights at the end of May and then he is fighting again in July/August so what kind of opponent were you expecting him to face?Originally posted by spud_gun View PostSo Chris Algieri or Frankie Gavin?
I wonder if those who were quick to criticise Khan will be as quick to criticise Brook.
Hearn already confirmed that they are looking at Rios for around August so I can live with the opponent he is facing at the end of May

Because Rios is a bonafide threat at WelterweightOriginally posted by marcus50bucks View PostThe fights at the end of May and then he is fighting again in July/August so what kind of opponent were you expecting him to face?

Love Rios style and his first two fights with Alvarado were two of the best brawls of recent years but he's no threat to Brook at 147
Laughable how Brook is getting a pass for Dan - soft mando, everyones allowed one - Gavin - short notice fight - and now seemingly Rios.

Everyone knows deep down Dan wasn't a live fighter to be in the same ring with Brook. The reason Kell gets a pass from me is because Dan was Kell's mandatory fight. So for Kell to recently have won the IBF belt and then have to give it up straight away had he not faced Dan would have been harsh irrespective of our thoughts on whether we feel the IBF is an established belt.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostBecause Rios is a bonafide threat at Welterweight

I'm not going to pretend that Rios is a true welterweight either but he sure is a better opponent than Algieri
and lets not forget Kell would take the Khan fight tomorrow if Amir wanted it.

How can you be so sure? Unless of course you're 'Kelly' Brook

Yep plus Khan is, in my opinion, a better fighter than Brook so there is a greater gulf in quality when Khan takes yet another fight.
Khan is very quick to come out and say that he is world class, that he wants to fight anyone who will get in the ring with him, that guys like Brook might have their career ended if they fought Khan, but after all that talk Khan continues to avoid anyone who can genuinely hit or even guys who would be on the wrong side of a 60/40 or 70/30 split if they faced him.
As in pretty much any sport the guys or gals who are world class/top class, or who like to proclaim that they are in that league, will be held to a higher standard by onlookers and by others involved in the sport. Go around saying you are the best whilst avoiding even the tier below top class and folks are going to call you on it.
If Brook continues to take on easy bouts and spouts his mouth off about how good he is, then he will come under the same type of scrutiny. But as he is seen as being a lesser talent to Khan, which he is imo, he may take a little longer to attract that scrutiny.
It is very simple for me. Does not matter if you are Khan or Brook. If you want to be taken seriously as potentially being a top tier fighter in your division then you need to be getting some Ws on your record against at least some from a pretty short list of fighters.
Garcia
Peterson
Bradley
Thurman
Matthysse
And if we wanted to add a couple of level below fighters to the list that would still be good wins for the record of either Khan or Brook
Chaves
Broner
Porter
If Khan and Brook avoid those guys/cannot get wins against them, and keep taking easy fights in the hope that a mega money fight against the likes of Mayweather jr ( which Khan and especially Brook would lose), then they can forget about having any sort of real legacy from their times in the pro ranks as they will have both just been guys who avoided the tough fights and who hung around long enough to be used as canon fodder when the best in the division needed to top up his bank account.I don't hate people.
