I've never liked Strauss very much. He's got a massively over inflated opinion of himself. He was an OK batsman and an average captain who got lucky with having so many good players in his team.

Oh and he's a Tory.

I overlook the Tory thing. Really liked him as a batsman and captain. 10th on the all time list of England run scorers. Some feat. Liked his style.

He's 10th on the list but I think a lot of that is down to the number of games he played. His average wasn't great and after a blistering first couple of years for England his form was consistently patchy with too much swishing outside off stump. If you're going to be a swisher, be an elegant swisher like Gower was.

He was a crap captain too. Boring, unimaginative tactics and he his handling of the KP fiasco was laughable. Boo Hoo diddums, did Straussy have his feelings hurt?!

Terrible review from McCullum. He knew he'd nicked that but must've been hoping hotspot didn't pick it up. Very poor.
