    7 minute miles

Right, here's one for you guys fitter and more clued up than myself. Maximum heart rate for my age is meant to be 174 but when I jog my heart reached 160 very quickly and hovers between 160 and 165. This is supposed to be far too fast for an aerobic workout but I'm able to breath and don't suffer cramps so it feels aerobic not anaerobic. I've looked through some fitness chat rooms and the suggestion is to try interval running with a couple of minutes interspersed with walking but don't really want to drop to this level when I feel fine running at my maximum ability. I would though if there's no benefit to me pushing my heart so much, any thoughts? Mt resting heart is 45-50 so it's quite an increase up to 160

Did 8 mile last night. Felt great. Ave pace was 7:37 but there were a couple of 7 minute miles in there too. Touch wood still no real re-appearing niggles (shortness of stamina and mass of blisters aside)

Humidity makes it really hard. How the hell do proper athletes run in places like SE Asia and the Caribbean!

6k this morning, feel better for it

    Norbs: 45.6km
    Pablo: 30.2 km
    Bacon: 14.2km

Of course we used the see saw method.

Or alternatively, we already know from the slidey scales behind me mate's pod thing at the gym.

    Carra Holy ****

Started back on Tuesday as my back problem seems to have settled down again. Did 4.1k then and 5.9 today. Feels great to be back out. Got the buzz both days both during and after Definitely discovered, for myself, that max 2 weeks off and I can even benefit from the break and run further and longer. 2-3 weeks, I can maintain the distance I was at (for me that's somewhere between 9 and 12k. After that, I just lose distance and time.

Well done Saveloy! My running is probably not far off your walking pace

    Norbs +5km (and +6km Saturday)

    Carra: 166 km
    Norbs: 34.6km
    Pablo: 30.2 km
    Bacon: 14.2km
    Saveloy: 5.1km (walking)

I don't think being 14st is really helping the cause. Strava has just told me that I've completed the 5k route around the block 10 times and I was pushing it today. Looked at my best run on this route and it's 3mins faster
