When trying to shed fat, especially via diet you lose a huge amount in water first which is why your actual weight isn't particularly important

I just got some blood tests done, and the advice that the clinic gave was to REDUCE CHOLESTEROL

Even went so far as to recommend margarine and low fat products

It should be ****ing illegal for official medical practices to give out such potentially damaging advice
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

I think waist size is too specific anyway, people add and lose weight in different areas not just their gut. In general if your clothes start to fit better you know you're on the right track.

Brought my kit into work today too , weighing up another 10km lunchtime run, although I may cut that down to 7km if any of my work mates come with me.

You're going to be a minimum of 14km down after lunch time Norbs, better get on it!

I won't be running this weekend though, so you've got time to catch up.

Did 5.5km last night with the trainers I hate. What a mistake, I've got a sore Achilles this morning.

As a fellow Achilles sufferer I feel your pain

Settled on a 8.25km route today, which is just over 5 miles, but it has a nasty 80m climb in it, which will be tough. Where I work is so hilly that it's kind of impossible to avoid a steep climb at some point. Still it should do wonders for me when I run again on the flat.

                            Was thinking the same myslef.

I'm getting to the saggy, granny arse stage again with my jeans, which isn't a pleasant sight for anyone.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I've got a few pairs. Today I'll be wearing these sexy beasts:

They've got a good grip on them so they handle trails ok as well as my normal road running. I've had other pairs which I've slipped in at this time of year, but so far in these I've not had any issues.

These are my normal ones, which are pretty cushioned:

BUT, I 'treated' myself to these a few months ago and I hate them - really hard and unforgiving.

I'm going to have to fork out for a new pair of cushioned runners in the next month or so as the Nikes are getting battered.
