Haha, remember I did taekwondo for 12 years, so aye I guess I got bored of met con stuff. Also, similar to tkd it's very cultish - and I'd defo had enough of that.

Plus, I've heard they take a very hard line on goats.

Yeah it does seem a bit like that.

I would like to give it a go but that part does put me off.

It's the elitist aspect that pisses me off. The girl who co-owns the gym finished first at the crossfit games the other year (winning a cool $250K I think)- she was being called "the fittest woman in the world" - which I find disrespectful to the likes of Jess Ennis. No other sport makes such unfounded claims on the basis of such objective measures.

I don't doubt what she did was a phenomenal achievement for a minute - & that she's not a fantastic athlete, but that's not really my point.

Wouldn't go this far, but my mate sent me it & it made me laugh:

that commentary was funny! I suppose that is the bad side of crossfit or the part that gets the most negative comments/feedback. Yes some of the workouts make no sense, there are too high reps for technical lifts. As you saw from the vid form was way off too! But what it is good for is getting you to exercise in a variety of ways. Bottom line is...as long as you stick with good form & don't sacrifice this for weight then each exercise will be more effective. Enjoy it, have fun with it but be sensible with what/how you are doing

All correct Arms aye. It's just the way it bills itself as something revolutionary. Like circuit training hasn't been around forever.

^ What he said 10k last night. I stopped bang on 10k cos I was absolutely shattered and was struggling to keep up for the last 2 miles.

                            I didn't last time I went

You had your brother though, and I had the wife. And she was nowhere near. So I would have had to shout her from across the gym

                            I am so ****ing weak
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

How did you get out of it then?

Nearly happed when I was on my own one time and the strain of trying to get it back up nearly gave me lockjaw. My jaw and neck were killing afterwards.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I know that I shouldn't give a sht what other people are lifting or whether they are looking, but that is pretty embarrassing

You presumably plan your workout in advance rather than deciding on the fly what to do, do you go off memory or write it doen/use the your phone?

Leave your ego at the door when you go to the gym...best advice I've ever been given.
