    I have a condition that I can't remember the name of, which means that I can't kneel down, ie with my shins under my thighs if that makes sense

    My knee locks, completely locks up and I need someone to force it open again

    It's excruciating, but once its unlocked, it doesn't hurt so much afterwards

    Because I know exactly how to make it happen, it hasn't happened for years, but still
    I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
    There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

        Started taking cod liver oil tablets. Injury sorted itself out, think I jolted the knee out biking but the cod liver tablets should hopefully keep me supple anyway

                    In hospital #2 of the day. Got a flukey free slot.

                    Hospital #1 said re me shoulder- Torn supraspinatus. Very early arthritis, also excess fluid in ball & socket. She's got me an appointment with the consultant tonight at 6 pm now as he has a free slot. He's a big hitter- has treated Stevie Gerrard & loadsa pro rugby players. Will find out if need surgery then- think it's too late for injections.

                    Hospital 2 consultant said he's actually putting me for an injection first as he needs to eliminate the possibility that it might be an ac issue that's the main problem (whatever the **** that is) as opposed to the supra tendon. Says the scan & his tests just then are both giving a mixed picture.
                    3rd place. Worst champions ever.

                        Leg day for me tomorrow. Not done leg day for about 3 weeks now so can't skip it any more. I don't mind doing the routines, it's the DOMS 2 days later that's the killer

                          Starting to do a bit of weight training at home again. My multigym is ****ed, I put too much weight on it and snapped the cable, but wanting to warm my muscles up a bit then join a gym. Doing it at home's **** anyways, spend as much time fathing about reconfiguring weights as you do training.

                          Started out last night very lightly with some bench press, alternate hammer curls, tricep extension and upright barbell rows. Realised just how badly out of shape I am. Lol.

                          Not worried about lower body at this stage, I'm a fat ******* atm so my lower body get plenty of exercise carrying my fat arse around, it can wait untill I'm at the gym, but want to get my upper body to where I can at least do a full routine before starting back up properly.

                          I used to also do pull downs and push downs (pull downs broke the cable so both are now out).

                          Free weights used to also do barbell curl, deltoid raises and butterfly bench press. Sometimes I'd slip in isolation curls if I felt I had anything left. But my muscles were massively protesting their first use in years

                          Amazing how hard this **** is when you take an extended break.

                            Fair play. Good luck mate. Once you're back in the swing of things, you should chuck on at least squats every week- they will help you lose weight cos they'll chuck your system into overdrive.

                              I can't do squats, my knees are too ****ed.

                              Strangely leg press seems to help them, building up the muscle around them for increased stability.

                              But squats are an accident waiting to happen.

                              Assuming I don't lose motivation again before I get there I usually mix in cardio at the gym. 20 mins on bike (or 10 with 10 on rowing machine), weights, another 10 on bike to cool off. That will help.

                              And I hammer the weights until my muscles are jelly. Pain is the muscles burning fat to recover

                              Not been in about 3 years, next 6 months will be hard, but hopefully I'll get back in the swing.

                                Defo makes sense not to load your knees with squats initially then. The best thing to sort out weak knees is to do leg curls and extensions to build up supporting muscles without excessive weight bearing. Then you can look at leg presses with a greater range of motion than you're probably doing now & ultimately squats. They can help ****ed knees if utilised correctly.

                                If you've knee pain- like I did to Subbs, I'd defo recommend Glucosamine Sulphate and fish oils.

                                Good luck again dude- and remember progress isn't always linear so don't let that disillusion you.
