Piers Morgan needs to wind his neck in not helping things at all although if he's right then Strauss for me is already showing what I feared when hearing about his appointment.
If a 34 year old Trott can be brought back in then no reason KP shouldn't be able to get back into the current fold
Michael Vaughan revealed in The Sunday Telegraph that the condition around not picking Pietersen was one of the reasons why he did not pursue his interest in the job that went to Strauss. "The ECB still seems to be a little bit reluctant to bring him back and I feel that the Pietersen issue is going to be a talking point through the summer," Vaughan wrote. Pietersen is playing for Surrey against Leicestershire and sits 35 not out overnight after day one, but is likely to miss the next three weeks of championship cricket as he expects to be called up early by his Indian Premier League team, the Sunrisers Hyderabad, to help them to qualify for the knockout stages.
I imagine theyll trot out the line of looking to the future, Kevin was a magnificent player in his time for us but we've taken the decison to go down the difficult path of bringing through the next generation blah blah blah.
