Off up to the Gaelic Grounds in a few hours. Got tickets for the game vs Tipp. 35k to 40k expected to be at the game so should be plenty of noise.

Might go stand on the county line after the game and eyeball Clare.

        **** me what a game.

Tipp where just about in it at half time and trailed Limerick by 5 points, second half Limerick decided to run into a big phone box and go into Superman mode and just hammer Tipp all over the pitch and won the game by 15 clear points.

Scary thing was that as amazing as Limerick were looking, you got the feeling they still had a gear or two more left in them.

The one downer was the injury to Casey but will wait and see what the news is on that.

Crowd was great too. Both sets of fans were nice and loud and great banter outside the ground before and after the game.

Even shook my fist in the direction of Shannon as I headed for the tunnel afterwards to begin the trek home to Cork.

Snakey takeaway at the Golden Dragon in Buttevent on the way back to top off a great day. Yeah it looks rough and ready but the nosh is good.

Chicken with pineapple sauce...om nom nom nom.

          19:00 this evening.

40 odd thousand of my close friends and I will be in attendence

Friends to become foes for a few hours as am the only one of the Irish in my little group that will be in green with the rest in the red of Cork.

Do have grand dad Ukraini coming too to see his first hurling game live. He has seen Limerick play on tv and he thinks the sport of hurling is nuts and crazy fast so think he is going to have his mind blown by what a top tier hurling match is like from the stands.

Have a feeling that it is going to be a really high scoring game. Cork are free scoring anyway and Limerick, well Limerick are Limerick when it comes to putting scores on the board.

Then Sunday of next week, Michelle has me down as her guest for the game against Wolves. So Saturday night next week watching the boxing followed by Sunday at Anfield .

To nick from Pitch meetings, Sporting weekends are tight!!!

Nice - Limerick to win by 8+ in a high scoring open game as you suggested I think

Looking forward to it. Not been in Pairc Ui Chaoimh for a game in some time. Been to concerts in recent ish times, but not for what makes the ground loud.

Is my fave GAA ground in the country. Might not be as swish or as big as Croker and does not have the history of Croker (though the area it is is does have plenty of GAA history), but has a feel to it as you walk by the fences outside the stadium that puts a shiver of anticipation running through you.

Do expect a Limerick win, but expect a tougher game than against Tipp given the game is on down here in Cork.

On paper Cork are the third best team in Munster and maybe even the third or fourth best in Ireland imo.

Now then - classic Munster hurling and classic Cork….. might be futile in the end! Had to jump through hoops to see it though - fecking GAAGO and 12e a game!

                  And then some.

We were both right about the high scoring bit .

Limerick with 29 scores and Cork with 31

And is not as though Limerick played badly or were sub par or whatever. Cork were simply that damn good. No excuses can be made for losing to them.

Thought Limerick were going to do a smash and grab late on when they finally got into the lead, but Cork held their nerve and kept digging away right to the end and got their deserved reward for their efforts.

Though Limerick were on the receiving end of the loss, it was still an amazing game to be at and was a stupidly exciting watch.

The crowds were going back and forth trading cheers for their teams, on the pitch the players were going point for point. The ground was just bouncing from the start.

Been to some amazing Limerick/GAA games over the years but this one is right up there as one of the very best.

Grand dad Ukraini was blown away by the physicality and speed of the spoirt in a live setting. Talk about getting a peach of a game for his first every live game.

Think the sheer strength of depth in Munster was highlighted by this result and the two others in recent weeks.

                  Limerick beat Clare.

                  Clare beat Cork.

                  Cork beat Limerick.

If the All Ireland title goes outside of Munster this year, well I have not noticed a county capable of causing that yet.

If Limerick fail to make five All Ireland titles in a row, surely one of Clare or Cork will be who gets it.

And yes about GAAGO. I think it is a disgrace that is ongoing, typcial cash grab, and there is still another 3.5 years on their current contract so you can expect them to cherry pick more and more prime games each season.

Six Munster titles in a row for Limerick now

Thurles was just bouncing yesterday. The noise coming from each stand was immense.

Clare supporters know how to bring the noise.

Hard fought game but oddly not as hard fought as some of the recent games against Clare. Just seemed to be a spark missing from Clare's game and Limerick never really had to go into their top gear imo.

Traffic between Thurles and the Horse and Jockey after the game was really light so the trip home was easy. Snakey stop in Cahir for a bite to eat then down the M8

Limerick and Cork going head to head again in the All Ireland Semi Final on the 7th July.

Think it is nailed on to be a barm stormer of a game. Two teams with crazy good attacks and two teams that like to stand and trade score for score.

Will be over 80,000 of my closest friends and I descending on Dublin come Sunday

Going to be a bit awkward being the only green shirt getting on the train at Kent station in Cork though

Limerick to win by 6/7 easing up I think. It’s must win on both sides where as it was do or die for Cork in the Munster championship

Cork will travel in hope but Limerick have the nous and big game players to deliver.

Wow wow wow - just off the phone with my Dad, a proud Cork man. What a game, what a win…. now they need to do it again vs Clare who’ll be waiting in the long grass

                              Amazing game.

Limerick were really good on the day but Cork were out of this planet at times.

The first 10 to 15 minutes of the second half decided the game as Cork were simply lethal in front of goal for that spell and put away what turned out to be the magic number of scores to prevent another big Limerick comeback.

Cork went six clear in the first half and Limerick clawed that back to go two clear themselves by half time.

Cork then in the second half went seven clear of Limerick after a 9 point turnaround and back came Limerick again to finish the game just two points behind.

Fair result in the end because for every missed chance you could point at for Limerick, Cork had at least the same.

80 odd thousand in the ground and it sounded like it too.

Huge All Ireland final coming up now.

Cork have a great team, but just as Cork looked to have that X factor needed to beat Limerick this year, Clare look to have similar over Cork this year.

Loooong train ride home. Even number of Red and Green shirts from Dublin to Limerick Junction in county Tipperary, but from Limerick junction back to Kent station in Cork I was the lone green top amongst a sea of red again

Getting from the station after getting off the train was like doing the walk of shame after being a dirty stop out.

Cheers, jeers and the beeping of car horns as the green jersey and flag over my shoulders stood out a mile

Had rolled the dice on Limerick winning and then being able to walk through Cork city clad in green and ended up reaping the whirlwind of Cork mockery

Haha - Cork lads love to dish it out, nothing won yet and Clare waiting. I’m very torn, my Dad was bringing me to Cork matches since I was 6 years old and I continued that when he stopped going. I’ve many buddies from my UCC days who played for Cork and clearly living in Shannon I “know” the Lohans.

I want Hoggy to retire an all Ireland winner, he deserves it but it’s a 50/50 game now. Cork played with 3 lads inside and that upset Limerick, they kept the ball away from Kyle Hayes and they matched them for running. I thought Cian Lynch was sublime yesterday, his touch and awareness is ridiculous
