Thanjk you.

Yes, yours is more on the side of trying in vain to make provocative posts, while mine is more along the lines of posting stuff like this:
Hmm. When you walk through a storm, etc?
I wonder what proportion of Liverpool supporters who aren't Irish would claim Shay Given is better than or even equal to Reina.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
well It would certainly be interesting to get a vote leaving out all Irish, LFC and Newcastle fans. Maybe I'll post a poll on some random site, one of villa's or something
To answer your question, not many. But that of course is because they are in fact LFC supporters, not because Reina is better.

I like your idea of a random poll on a neutral site. That would be diverting. Then again timing is an issue, since his inconsistent performance yesterday will be uppermost in people's minds.

A neutral vote would be very interesting. Not just between Reina and Given, but throw in the likes of Cech, Friedel and Vander saw etc. I might actually do it some time just to see the opinions from around and about.
That mistakes from Reina yesterday wasn't even half as bad as Casillas on the third Valencia goal.
One of the worst mistakes by a keeper that I have ever seen. Not even a schoolboy keeper would make the same mistake.
The mistakes from Reina was also his first mistakes this season. I don't know why people think that he is weak in the air. He was that his first season but now he is top class in the air.
Casillas is weak organizing his defense, everyone could see that yesterday with the defenders all over the place.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
Basically I think the thing is that Nic prefers and rates more highly the class of kepper who largely stays on their line and rarely comes out to play sweeper or claim the ball. For me while the other class are at higher risk of looking like fools they give more to a team overall.
Basically picking up the nightmare games or goals for keepers is only relevant if you have some idea of their context in terms of their other performances.

What in heavens are you on about? No, I just don't put as much emphasis on the vocal attributes of a keeper. Organisation cancome from the centre halves. Obviously the best keepers have a bit of everything. Admittedly I havn't watched Casillas enough on the crosses side of the game but I have seen enough of Reina to know he's overly error prone in this. And on one on ones and shot stopping (the 2 most important goalkeeping attributes by a mile IMO), there's not much better than Casillas.
Reina was absolutely atrocious yesterday and he has been in more than ahandful of games for us. He has his really good games too but he's not as good and consistant as Casillas which is why he is indeed Spain's No.2 behind Casillas.
I just think that organisation comes from more than mere words - I guess that is another difference in how we view keepers. My basic point was the one you reiterated that you think shot stopping is the most important aspect of keeping.
I think Reina has only been bad for us in a handful of games but really this whole argument has **** all to do with Spanish football and I'm going to leave this discussion for another day/thread.

Strange that our defense fall to pieces as soon as Reina don't play

Nic mate, your having a laugh.
Reina is a top quality keeper, he made a couple of errors yesterday, but he also made some top class saves, that kept it from being a 7-0 job.
All keepers are prone to mistakes, Cech has made some howlers, Casillas often flaps at balls, Canizares was often slow to react, Barthez had brain explosions time and time again, even the great Buffon has made some calamities. Your pal Given has been dog****e all season, and Freidel only looks good because of all the shots he has fired at him.
they all do it.
We have one of the best keepers in the game, and the fact he is still young in keeper years is all the better

All I can say is ****ING WOW. The last 20 minutes have just shown why this is the best quality league in the world. Unreal. Relegation threatened Betis humiliated and out classed by barca in a 0-2 first half only to hit back with 3 goals of the highest quality in the last 20 mins and miss a pen in that time to boot. Could you imagine middlesborough doing that to utd? Wouldn't happen in the prem! The quality in depth in the Primera liga is just brilliant to watch.
Barca should have finished it in the first half. they only have themselves to blame for taking the foot off the gas. they could have had the first half 5-0 easy.
