He should get more game time here though. In reality, if we went out and bought somebody like Fabregas, Reus, Pogba or Vidal, then i could accept that he was not going to be good enough for LFC. However, we didn't. We purchased Adam Lallana. And we spent £25m on him. If Southampton had their heads screwed on at the time, then they would have got Suso thrown in as part of the deal because they could have probably developed Suso to be better than Lallana.
Teixeria will be the next one to fock off somewhere else (permanently) only to come back and haunt us.
When Rodgers first came in, it was like a breath of fresh air. He got rid of ****e like Joe Cole and gave the likes of Sterling, Wisdom and Suso their chance. It looked like the future was bright (hopefully it still is) but i genuinely thought that whenever we spent big money* from now on, it would only be on top top players - with the rest of the squad being made up of players that we developed ourselves. Flanagan was a ****in amazing example of this.
I suppose the point i am trying to make is summed up by looking at our signings. If we didn't spend £25m on Lallana and £20m on Lovren but instead spent £35m on Reus (or even up to 40 - 45m) and promoted Wisdom. Then i think we would have been better off. Likewise, if we spent £35m on Hummels and promoted Suso, then i think we would have been better off.
BR and the committee should have trusted their own ability to develop young players.
*(I don't class Coutinho and Sturridge as big money signings, but i would class Lovren, Lallana and Markovic).
