We have bought a fantastic keeper with great potential to replace a keeper whose move to Barcelona has been deferred until next summer. Makes sense that we loan him out so we don't have to pay him and most likely get a loan fee. We'll get more in return this way.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

Think that's the key. We get to test the new keeper for a season and let Reina go off to see if he can find his form, whilst he's still our player.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostPlus if it all goes badly then we can recall Pepe.
It's a win win for us really.
Next summer we'll either have a great new keeper nicely settled in or Reina back.
Anyways, whatever happens, good luck Reina

Without knowing the details many people are guessing. The club knows what it is doing with finances. they have far more competen e than we do.Originally posted by Leyton388 View PostSo we have loaned him out when we could have sold him for about £8 to £10 million. 12 months down the line his contract will be run down more as will his value.
from a footballing perspective. reina really hasnt delivered in the last few seasons.....

Actually it's Brendan Rodgers who has decided it for himOriginally posted by Vermilion View PostDoubt he'll play in a Liverpool shirt again ever, regardless of how Mingolet does.
Anyway, Good luck Pepe, another that's decided it's time to get out, although i think he decided he wanted to go as while back tbh.

It seems to me the most likely explanation. A lot more likely than incompetence in the club's handling of transfers given all the evidence to the contrary in the last year or so.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostWe might not be able to sell him for that or he might not want to sign for someone else. We just don't know. He gets paid £4m a quid a year so it's not an insignificant sum, it could be enough to pay the wages of a top class player. And we might be getting some money in terms of a loan fee. Again, we don't know. It might be a cost neutral way of deferring a move to Barca for a year due to valdes staying for another season. We don't know. But don't let not knowing stop you from foaming at the mouth and shouting incompetence..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Sorry but sadly Reina hasn't been World Class for a couple of seasons.Originally posted by Hustler View PostWe have spent 9 million on a keeper we did not need this season... In return we are sending a world class keeper on loan for a year before Barcelona take him for cheaper? Is this the new LFC?
I love Pepe and it is easy to be a bit blind towards his form, but he hasn't been as good as he once was for us.
Loan deal will get the wages of the books and then Barca will take him next year. Rather that than having a 110k a week goalkeeper sat on the bench when we could invest that elsewhere personally.
