bringing the game into disrepute is a catch all offense that is apparently being considered and getting deliberately sent off to circumvent the piss poor rules is exactly that.

Hmm did we not do this this before with Dirk Kuyt (yellow on purpose) against PSV under Rafa?
yeah I thought I remembered us doing this also. I am sure we got our 'yellow' by fouling and not time wasting though. Was it Kuyt..? I can't honestly remember.

Uefa is to investigate Real Madrid over alleged improper conduct by coach Jose Mourinho and four players.

The charge against Mourinho, Xabi Alonso, Sergio Ramos, Iker Casillas and Jerzy Dudek relates to Tuesday's 4-0 Champions League win over Ajax.

Ramos and Alonso both picked up second yellow cards for time-wasting late in the 4-0 win in Amsterdam.

That meant they would be banned for the final group game, rather than in the knock-out stage of the tournament.

After the game, Mourinho denied any wrongdoing, saying: "Stories sell, but the important thing is the 4-0 win and the fantastic game we had. Let's talk about that and not other things."

The disciplinary hearing will take place on 30 November.
Uefa is also investigating the behaviour of the former coach of Romanian champions CFR Cluj.

Sorin Cartu, who was only appointed in September, was sacked on Thursday after smashing up the dugout during his team's 1-0 Champions League loss at FC Basel on Tuesday.

"Due to this unwanted gesture committed by Sorin Cartu we have decided to sack him from his current position," stated club president Iuliu Muresan.
"We would like to give our most sincere apologies, first of all to Uefa, the host of the Champions League competition, to the Swiss club FC Basel, to our fans and to all football and sports fans."

Uefa have charged Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho and four members of his side with improper conduct over allegations he told two of his players to get themselves sent off.

Xabi Alonso and Sergio Ramos were given their marching orders after earning second yellow cards for time-wasting during Real's 4-0 UEFA Champions League triumph over Ajaxon Tuesday night.

Both players will consequently be banned for the final, meaningless, group game against Auxerre rather than carry yellow cards into the last 16.

The pair's actions have led to speculation they purposely sought to be dismissed as to wipe their disciplinary slates clean ahead of the knock-out stages.

                Charged

Alonso and Ramos, along with Mourinho, Iker Casillas and Jerzy Dudek, have been charged for their role in the incident.

Dudek was seen speaking to Casillas behind the goal during the late stages of the game and he is alleged to have passed on a message from Mourinho that the duo should deliberately get themselves sent off.

A statement from Uefa on Thursday said: "A disciplinary case has been opened against Real Madrid CF for the improper conduct of coach Jose Mourinho and players Xabi Alonso, Sergio Ramos, Iker Casillas and Jerzy Dudek during the UEFA Champions League Group G match against AFC Ajax in Amsterdam on Tuesday."

The case will be dealt with by the Uefa Control and Disciplinary Body on Tuesday 30th November.

In addition, a disciplinary case has also been opened against Cluj for the improper conduct of coach Sorin Cartu during the Champions League Group E game at Basel on the same night.

Cartu caused controversy by taking out his frustration on the away side's dugout, putting his foot through a Perspex divide.

likely story, we just organised it a bit better than Mourinho. Rafa was always well known for his organisation

Only just watched the video now. Jesus H Christ on a bike. Talk about obvious. Would have been comedy if the ref refused to book them and just stopped the clock.

"The referee has indicated there will be a minimum of 17 minutes added time"

Would be well funny if Casillas and Dudek were both banned for a few games

But I do feel a bit sorry for the players. Xabi and Ramos both clearly looked embarrassed walking off, they obviously didn't want to be doing that but orders are orders

Xabi's time wasting dance was very funny. And all the time he was walking off it seemed he was very close to smiling and was tryig to hold it back.
