They don't reveal who voted for who and apparently it's a secret ballot so supposedly only Blatter and two others know who's won.

Funny how everyone seemed to know Russia had won before the announcement.

Apparently we came bottom with about 3 or 4 votes.

Heard one of the bid co-ordinators say he was very surprised we went out in the first round as we'd been 'promised' more than enough votes.

Just heard a good point on the radio re BBC/Panorama program.

If they are corrupt the FIFA officials would be angry to be exposed and if they aren't corrupt they'd be just as angry to be unfairly tainted as such - lose / lose.

Why couldnt the BBC have aired Panorama next week FFS?

Not sure if that's what it came down to but it certainly wouldn't have helped.

Most of them are probably bribed so they won't exactly love it if someone starts to investigate it.

Brazil are hosting it in 4 years, they are a bit of a footballing nation aren't they, sure they aren't and England or a France, but they do ok every now and again.

Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay tick all the boxes and will do well for being part of a continent with few countries.

But given the new, everyones the same attitude the next lot will be:

2026 Panama - Never been in Central America
2030 Lichenstein - Lots of money
2034 Federated States of Micronesia - Lots of new opportunities
2038 Guyana - Never hosted it before
2042 Egypt - Africas 'turn' again
2046 Cyprus - To help heal the Greek/Turkish issue
2050 Buhtan - Asias 'turn' and the fairness to those living at high altitudes
2054 Cost Rica - They have an amazing education system don't ya know
2058 Turkmenistan -Its a global game now, but it is Europes turn!
2062 Indonesia - We must give the Muslims a chance, its only fair
2066 St Kitts & Nevis - They've really come a long way and deserve some recognition

Or we can ring fence 4 out of 5 tournaments for the founding nations and then reward those that have actually shown some initiative and progress after they have achieved it, like Japan. England and Holland must be the next 2 European hosts its well overdue.

we've got **** all chance really - i wasn't too fussed about it (not like some on here) yeah it'd have been good etc but

really - what more can they want (fifa) we have the stadiums, the ability to cope with major tournements, the police structure, the following - everything really - it's just mental - it's almost like a gamble - "yeah england are sorted....so lets give it russia and see if they can pull it off"
