    poor kid.

Carroll is starting to link up with Suarez and Gerrard and there is some sort of understanding going on there now. Def need all three to play together more often and if we can add more quality instead of Downing (Bellers if fit but in the summer we should look to beef that side of the attack up) then we could start seeing the best of all of them.

I'd love us to play a 433 with Andy at the head of it with Suarez on the right, Bellamy on the left and Gerrard, Lucas and Henderson in central midfield. That would be killer.

that would be the formation for me as well, sadly we miss Lucas massively.

Not having a go at Carroll but some of the comments in the match thread got me thinking about this article from last season.

Liverpool management are shocked by the lack of gym work new £35 million signing Andy Carroll has experienced.

The Daily Mail says to the astonishment of the Anfield staff, it turns out the 22-year-old has spent little time in the gym to develop the upper-body strength that would make him even more potent in the penalty area.

They will also put Carroll on an intensive weights programme in the belief that, come the start of next season, he will be an even more formidable forward and even more of an athlete.
What’s happened then as I thought to myself when watching the CC celebrations that he looked a bit weedy with his top off and now fans are suggesting he doesn’t suit a physical game?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I think he's good in the air just cos he's big and with the right ball in (early or the right cross) he would be very good but that's not really our style of play though is it?

I think he's improved a lot to fit in our style rather than us playing to his strengths. Don't know why people would suggest he'd do better in a physical game really.
            Are we winning?

I believe the next entry in the Football Manager series should have his agility stat at 2.

I thought he was alright today apart from the last 10 where he played a couple of unnecessary pass-backs.

I genuine believe that, as brilliant as Suarez can be, it can be frustrating playing with him as you don't know what he's going to do but big Andy can still improve in his anticipation.

I've said this before, not only is Suarez unpredicatable for defenders, but also team mates, which means people might need alot of time to get used to playing with him.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I genuinely cannot remember a single thing of note big Andy did today. Up against a couple of big solid CB's but not one of his more memorable displays. I don't think we play to his strengths at all.

I thought he was poor today, he has really good technique, passes and shots wise, his heading is pretty decent too. But he just doesn't have that natural pace, ball control and ability to turn it takes to be a striker.

Look at him and Crouch today, Carroll's body frame suggests he should be able to do what Crouch does put possibly even better, more powerful. But honestly at the minute I think the best level that Carroll can get too is about the same level as Crouch.

If I knew he could reach the level of Crouch before Torres arrived, I'd be a lot happier with what we have just now. Crouch proved a lot of the doubters wrong. I think he was a better footballer than Carroll so far.

I thought he was our worst player today but recent results suggest we are a better team when he starts.

                                heres one to ponder on...

                                not just based on todays performances, or future potential but on overall play, who would you prefer at LFC now;

who would add more to our team, and help us win more games. andy carroll, or peter crouch
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
