I think he's certainly one for next season - it's been stop and start for him since he came to us which will have made it harder for him and the rest of the team to get a system working well with him playing.

Shouldn't have started today IMO as we'd been playing some great football prior to this.

Hopefully with a full pre-season under his belt we'll see why he was bought in by Kenny et al

I dont know anyone who thinks we have a bargin, but most of us are hopefull he will justify the price tag. You need wingers to take advantage of his attributes, and alas, we have none. Roll on the summer...
More that, accepting that variation up front is an advantage, I'm just not convinced he is actually that good. He's not done much of significance to date to suggest he is's actualy going to develop into a top player. We'll see how he develops with fingers crossed. There's a lot riding on it.

I posted this in the post match thread so I'll put it here as well. I fully expect to take a kicking for it but here goes...

I don't think Andy Carroll should be anywhere near our first 11, he's an impact player from the bench at best...a good 20 minutes against Man City aside, he's been brutal.

He makes Kuyt look like 100 metre sprinter as well.

I really hope he proves me wrong, but we got hosed on this deal... Just think who we could have bought with 35 million this summer!

You're not a true Liverpool supporter if you criticise.

          It's not the Liverpool way.

Although I'm not even criticising. Just saying he's a player who did well in the championship, did pretty well for half a PL season and ok briefly for england. Pretty true assessment I'd have thought. Wheter he is very good remains to be seen.

The lad has been injured most of the time he has been here and lets see what happens next season when we get some width in the team. I believe he will be great when we get the wings sorted.

He definitely looked more mobile at Newcastle so I'm pretty sure its the injury that's hampering him.

Do you think Kenny will be under pressure to play him because of the price tag? Did he really want him in the first place? These are the questions we will get asked while we have Comolli in charge of transfers. I may be wrong, but he doesnt seem to be Kennys type of player.

Cumbersome, slow witted, poor in everything he tried to do and he slowed down the play. We were a million miles away from the Fulham game, I think Carroll was a major factor in that.

                          Makes him starting pretty baffling.

It was a huge disruption bringing him in, and ultimately a hugely wrong one.

I mentioned it a while back in a thread to a poster. That I don't think I am the only one that is yet to be convinced or sees the merit in Andy playing for LFC. I don't wish to say too much about him. Except Kenny's Robbie Keane.

Hardly, he's not going to get peak condition by sitting on the sidelines. And when the other options are Joe Cole or a kid you'd have to play out of position it makes it easier.
