The entire Carroll deals strikes me as something that you'd read on 419eater (the site on which the Nigerian scammers being made to do ridiculous things)

I can imagine the scene in the Newcastle boardroom on the day we put our inital bid in for Carroll

'Wayaye Mike yer neeva gonna beeleve this but them Scousers have onlay gon an bid 30 meelion for wor Andy'

'Forra laugh pet tell em we want 35meelion'

'Wayaye Mike yer neeva gonna beeleve this but them Scousers have onlay gon an agreed to pay 35 meelion for wor Andy'

'Forra laugh pet tell em we want a 25% sell on clause on any profit they make on the deal and we want a picture of John Henry and Dalglish in purple pants with Sports Direct tattoos on their navels and erm....we also want a bowl of purple, only purple, m&m's at the office by 5:03 or the deal is off'

'Wayaeee Mike they've agreed to all our conditions....

Look at the 2nd goal v Newcastle. Sturridge holds off a defender and then makes a perfectly weighted cushioned pass for Countiho, he then spins and ridiculous pace makes a bee line for goal to recieve the Coutinho pass and play the ball perfectly for Henderson. A perfectly executed counter attacking goal. I don't think Carroll would be able to do that in a million years but I do think playing to his (Carroll) strengths he would score a bucket load of goals.

but I think, that we (fans) can leave this behind now. 15mil is best we can get for andy. let's be fair, he was probably in the top5 worst PL transfers ever (if we look at the price).

I think he's in the top 1 mate.

I agree. You could make a case for #1 in the history of world football. There have been other huge flops but they were on players who had shown genuine ability for more than 6 months prior to their transfer.

I think it's the worst transfer of all time, yeah. Anywhere. Typical that it's us FFS.

If we'd only taken Sturridge as part of the Torres deal, we'd have Suarez, Sturridge and probably 20m in change.

Newcastle dry bummed us and then made us apologise.
We should have had a clause written in that we got 25% of any loss off of Newcastle too

Carroll's going to **** us because he wants to go back to Newcastle. We'll end up with a £12m take it or leave it offer from them and will have no choice but to accept it. It's a crud situation where an offer is accepted and yet other offers are solicited at a lower price
