Poulsen's poor appearance record at Liverpool has led to reports linking him with a return to his home country with FC Copengahen, however this is a move that the 31-year-old’s representative Jorn Bonnesen says will not be considered.

“Danish football is of no interest to him this summer,” Bonnesen - who also cited Poulsen's recent injuries as a factor in his misfortune - told Bold. “It is not in Christian’s thinking.

“Christian really likes life at Liverpool, both on and off the field. He has a contract for another two years and will continue working hard to secure more playing time.
“He has been out with a hamstring injury for recent matches – that’s why he hasn’t been in the squad.

“Liverpool have a few injuries at the moment, so there will be opportunities for him in the run-in.”

Loan until the end of his contract, then a free. Seems to be the way for us with these dodgy gash signings.

Thanks for the bill there Roy, £5m plus wages for a player who has looked no better than an amateur way out of his depth.

A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

So basically he's getting paid a really good salary and is happy sitting on his arse

Haha mate. You don't have to be then. But I think you would like the fact that we beat Manchester United in the first Champions League season of the club ever and gave Shrek some good tackles that hurt him. ;-)

On topic: Dont underestemate Poulsen. In his prime he would be great but Liverpool bought him a year or two too late. I've Said it already his not good enough to be in Liverpools starting elleven but he's a good player. Mauve a club like newcastle could use him. I dont know certaintly not a Premier league type of player is he?

The career Poulsen's had in the game certainly deserves a bit of respect.

Just think the Premier League is too fast and furious for him.

He's had a good career, but I think even in his prime he was more suited to the Italian league than the Premiership. Most people on here called that his legs had gone before we signed him, and that has proved the case, also his fitness doesn't look up to it. I think that everyone is so frustrated because we all saw it coming but still signed him.

Fitness wise I think it's mainly due to the fact he has played so few games the last 2 seasons, he is far from the match form he could be in.

Poulsen looks to be past it by now, but also seem to be a bit of a victim of entering during Hodgson. Both in terms of getting his chances in a team that played very poorely and becoming the scapegoat for what really was poor team performances as well as a style not suited for the team overall.

I think both Poulsen and us will be better off if he can find a new club this summer.

                          Agreed.

He did slightly better during the chances given to him by Kenny but he didn't look ready for the PL's pace. Shame really because we could do with teh style of player he was in his better days.

Poulsen today told a Danish net media that he has trained on pain pills the last couple of weeks to prove himself to Dalglish, and that is part of the reason he was on the bench against Birmingham. Knowing him he is a fighter and could well be here for another season to show that he can get himself in to the team.

I doubt he will, but at least it shows that he is willing to take his time and fight for a place without bitching about not playing, very pro in his attitude.

He's been very professional and his attitude has been very commendable but the problem is that he's not nearly good enough for the club of our magnitude.

I wish him the best of luck in his future career but he needs to go in the summer.

Wonder how much his pal Ferguson slipped him to totally derail the club
