Factor in Aqua man wages and the total bill just for those 7 players is £19.7m or £380,000 per week

We have a lot of deadwood for sure.

Shocking, action must be taken. Or is the club printing money ??

I think we'll see quite a bit of changes with those players in question and it is very possible that none of them will be with us next year.

Poulsen,Jova, Cole, El Zhar Konchesky and Deggan should all be shipped out this summer - offer little to nothing to our squad moving forwards and take up a large chunk of wages which could be used to far better use elsewhere.

If we can get £5M+ for that lot I'd be happy!

Yes, he wants a big pay off or he's happy to sit in the reserves.

I hope Kenny gets rid of all the dead wood over the summer, it can't be good for the squad having all these miserable sods hanging around not getting a game. Even if we lose money, get rid.

Morgenavisen Jyllands-Posten - a Danish news paper ran this article today.
It's been through Google Translate and I haven't had time to all remove funny words etc.
In his defence he doesn't criticize anyone at the club for his lack of chances and hopefully his statements are just part of a plan to get as big a pay off as possible

                    The plan is still Liverpool
National team: Captain Christian Poulsen has not played since international match against Norway. He hopes to have a future at Liverpool.

                    By Troels Henriksen

The past year has been full of new experiences for Christian Poulsen.

He moved to England and was the father of her third child. Poulsen says that everything is good about Liverpool city and its football club with the red jerseys. The same can't be said about his personal situation at the club.

Christian Poulsen this spring lived through its most difficult time as a footballer and it has made national coach Morten Olsen speculate in putting his captain on the bench for the championship match in Iceland 4th June.

"I get paid to play and I can also feel in myself that it's been a tough period. I train all week, but I do not get the match over the weekend and it's frustrating. You're wildly disappointed when you've been there and once again has sat 90 minutes on the bench, "said Christian Poulsen when a group of international players from foreign clubs workouts Monday in Elsinore.

With few exceptions, Poulsen in his former three foreign clubs in three countries have always played a lot and it has been the recipe for the national team starting line-up since 2002. Not so anymore.

Both Lucas Leiva and Jay Spearing is ahead of him in order to play the central midfield, and in the season's final game on Sunday had Poulsen even find themselves in watching 19-year-old Jonjo Shelvey become Subbed after 12 minutes when Jay Spearing was injured .

However the experiences doesn't make him say he now wants to get away from Liverpool.

"I expect to start the club again after the summer and I have two years left on my contract. It is the plan.

Should it be changed by it, it's something that happens suddenly during the summer.

As it looks now, I expect very clear that I am in Liverpool, "says Christian Poulsen.

Liverpool has played a great spring without the Dane on the team and the club finished in sixth place in the Premier League.

It has been hard to look for Christian Poulsen.

"When you train every day, it's hard as a player to watch as the team begins to function, and there are others who have seized the opportunity at the expense of me. I'm obviously annoyed, but I hope it can be changed.

If not, we will see what can happen over the summer, "recognizes the Christian Poulsen.

He was purchased at Juventus, while Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson was called. The two knew each other from their shared time at FC Copenhagen in 2001, when the club won its second DM title. The beginning of the season was miserable for Liverpool, and Hodgson ended up being fired.

Instead came Kenny Dalglish, and although he often has seen all roads other than Christian Poulsen, the Dane has nothing bad to say about his current manager.

"There are others who have seized the opportunity. I must admit.

I like the trainer team, we have now, and I also believe that it has done some things that makes us go a brighter future. I have only good to say about the club, its coaches and the manager, "stresses the team captain.

                    Not a single minute

The question now is whether it's Poulsen, running on the pitch, 4 June at the Island with the Danish national team captain's armband on the upper arm. Coach Morten Olsen said after the international match against Norway, he would consider to choose Christian Poulsen, unless the captain got some playing time at Liverpool. Since then, Poulsen did not play one minute in the Premier League and what makes Olsen then? Christian Poulsen himself has doubts, but he will prove he should be in starting line up against Iceland over the next half week training with the national team.

"I am pleased to be selected for this squad and I hope I through training can show what I can.

Morten Olsen has estimated that I have the quality to be in the squad, although I have not played, "says Christian Poulsen.

His biggest competitor to one of the two seats in the starting line up in the match against Iceland is FC Copenhagen William Kvist. In addition, Morten Olsen has taken Kasper Lorentzen, Niki Zimling and Jakob Poulsen as central midfielders.
Another 96.000 reasons to honour Rafa

I just hope someone has a cunning plan

Poulsen seems a classy, classy bloke. A real shame he's not very good.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I wouldn't be remotely surprised if that was the last time The Bodge had seen him play before he signed him.
