Kenny - brilliant. Looked what happened there.
Paisley, Fagan & Kenny worked under previously successful managers & used the same principles as their predecessors. Everyone else bar Rafa (the man WITH a CV) didn't do much. Furthermore with regards to Kenny's 2nd appointment, his CV was nearly 2 decades old so therefore couldn't really be taken into account.
Bottom line is would any of the other big clubs even consider a Rodgers type appointment, let alone actually hire him? I think not...
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

Depends what you mean by a big club. Spurs would have gone for BR had we not so says hearsay and you never know what Arsenal would do since there last appointment was also an unknown and we have no idea what Utd would do since there is no recent record of them appointing anyone. Barca, Munich, Milan, even Real have in recent times all have a relative tendancy to also go for 'unkowns'. Even the plastic big club hired Avram Grant and unkown.

Well what a lovely tongue you have.

And all we asked for was a source.

Told you all there was a good player in there.

Lets hope he continues to make an effort. He's been mostly ineffective so far, but he's now showing signs that he isn't completely crap. I'll even begrudgingly say that he's been quite good recently.

There is, thats what makes him so frustrating, get yesterday out of him 10-15 times a season even if it's only against utter **** and you've got a really valuable squad player but he always seems to be in a comfort zone. I remember when he destroyed Micah Richards down the wing at City last season after about 5 minutes then he never bothered going at him once for the other 85. Strange player.

A few good performances and then three quarters of absolute drab, like last season under Dalglish.

A very good performance yesterday. Defended well, created, showed signs of understanding the ideas of the team. Is it to impress a new club? Does he want to stay? Will he sustain this level? History suggests no.

He's not good enough for the long term, but every good performance helps for himself and the club. With all likelihood, Ince and Sturridge are coming in, and then in the summer, we'll really reinforce (as Rodgers said). The best thing Downing can do is play with freedom and know there isn't any pressure or expectation on him.

He had that direct running and shooting with power we saw in his debut game, where he hit the woodwork and we all (yes - all!) thought there might be a decent signing there. Shame its a bookend performance. Got to wonder what went wrong with him, because he was really good yesterday.

He's been no better than Babel.

I don't remember Babel ever playing as well as Stewie did yesterday. Of course it was just one game but he was, and I don't lightly use LDPisms, tremendous.
                              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Babel came on as a sub in the Champions League game against Arsenal and totally changed the game. What a game that was!
