Oh yeah, I vaguely remember now you mention it.

I don't mean to be argumentative but there is a difference being able to change the game as a sub and being MOTM from start to finish. That's not say the former isn't valuable of course.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

He was very good when we beat Derby county 6-0 too.Scored a great goal early in his LFC career. Looked a hell of a player before generally being garbage for the rest of his time with us.

Stewie is doing it in reverse, being totally **** mostly just before playing well so we can get more money for him

It's not sufficient to be tremendous occasionally and dethpicable the rest of the time. The very best players are consistent and reliable. We seem to lack players who can play at 70%+ of their ability most of the time.

A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

                    Of course.

Although I think Rodgers is right to say that Downing has been performing at a higher level in the last few weeks, culminating in yesterday's tremendous performance. So if he continues to play well and affect the game then even if he doesn't stay at yesterday's almost Barnesian level (ok, not quite but he was very good) then he'll have satisfied your criterion and would deserve to stay. In fact we'd be very foolish to let him go.

That's the judgment Rodgers has to make, coupled with weighing up the likely fee and any savings in wages.

I'd still sell him but I wouldn't be in a hurry.See how he goes throughout January and sell him at the end of the window if he resumes his ****ness.
