A cynic would also point to the PL saying look we don’t need an independent regulator to be appointed to oversee us we can do it ourselves

Why so sympathetic? I want them relegated so far they end up in the Ashton Under Lyne and District Sunday League.

Ultimately the City statement doesn't hold any water at all. 'We have supplied copious documentation' is countered by the very allegation that the documentation is falsified/incorrect/insufficient.

I think they might be ****ed.

Stripping titles looks bad for the PL. So to be honest I don't see it happening.

Also City's financial doping has impacted on more than just the seasons that they are being investigated for, the investigation only runs to 2018, so our battles with them 2018-19 and 2021-22 where we lost by a point wouldn't be up for any form of re-evaluation despite the fact that their squad was built in the seasons that they are being investigated for.

For me the punishment has to fit the crime if they are found guilty and what they have done is distort and destroy football for millions of people for over 10 years, This may sound crazy but I don't think that there is a punishment harsh enough. Think of all the fans who have been denied the opportunity to watch their side win the league, or play in the CL or the players/managers who should have won titles but didn't, and lost jobs because of their failure etc. For example Gerrard gets stick for never winning a PL title, that song about him slipping never gets sung, Brendan Rodgers is a PL winning manager, and that's just looking at our club. History looks very different.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

That's the arrogance of an organisation thats been owned by human rights abusing narcissists for the best part of 15 years. They think they'll be able to spend their way out of it.

If they get booted down a few leagues the player exodus will be incredible. It will be breach of contract (club). Was the same when it happened to Rangers.

I agree, retrospective punishment opens too many cans of worms and creates too many headaches for the Premier League to want to have to deal with.

There’s no putting right what City have done.

If only it hadn’t taken the powers that be 14 years to do anything.

                                Against PL rules innit?

I remember we were going to take things further on some controversy or other (was it the Suarez thing? Lol) - and we’re told that taking it to CAS would mean expulsion from the PL
