I actually think the FA would have preferred the date to be ASAP - so as to avoid them having to make a big decision themselves.

The FA would have wanted this done and any ban served before the Euros (If a ban was to be imposed)
Now it gives them a massive headache and they are coming under more and more pressure to remove him as captain and possibly the squad

They can suspend him, standard practice in the workplace.Originally posted by Alex View PostItll be hard for the FA to punish Terry in anyway before the court case. If he goes too court, and gets found innocent, which is a possibility. Then the FA will have banned him with no good reason other than suspicion.Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

The FA have to have their own hearing where they use their own measure of 'balance of probabilities', rather than 'beyond reasonable doubt'. Because the burden of proof is lower for an FA charge than a criminal one he can be found guilty by the FA even if he's found not guilty by a court of law.Originally posted by Alex View PostItll be hard for the FA to punish Terry in anyway before the court case. This is similar to someone having civil action (for damages say) being brought after being found not guilty in a criminal trialThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

No matter what your views, everyone is innocent until proven guilty.
Then again in high profile cases, people have tended to resign when found in similar positions. Take the World Bank guy accused of raping a hotel maid, Dominique Straus-Kahn. He resigned immediately, and charges have been subsequently dropped in his case.
If the Chancellor was accused of a crime, I'm sure 100% he would resign before it went to court. It is too much of side-show / distraction otherwise.
IMO, it should be up to Terry to do the honourable thing, rather than put the FA in that position.Oh I don't know.

Ferdinand's tweet may have been referring to him being banned for missing the drug test
Gary Neville and Matt Dickinson

@GNev2 so does being outside the bubble give you a different opinion this time?!

@DickinsonTimes or wait till after the trial. To ban without process is to sentence. That's what I fought for back then and I still believe.

@GNev2 would that apply however serious the charge? Isn't there a point where the FA might feel it is inappropriate if player facing case?

@DickinsonTimes act if it affects the performance of the team/individual.

@GNev2 and do you think this might?

@DickinsonTimes Only The current manager and players can answer that. My war is over!

Harry Redknapp wants to be England manager, if his trial were to be postponed until July it would harm his chances. Getting it over with now means he hopes it'll be forgotten about by the end of the Euros.Originally posted by Phoenix06 View PostHow does Harry Redknapp find the time for his trial and John Terry can't?
