Yep so the verdict is expected today.

When the Suarez verdict came out, it was accompanied by a 180 page report. I very much doubt they'll be so comprehensive this time.

I think they'll clear him, which of course would be an absolute travesty.

He clearly threatened them that if they didn't throw the case out before it went to "court", then he would stop playing for England too.

Their hands are tied on this one, they have to charge him.

It's the FA nothing is certain

He will get a ban. The FA have no process. Everyone is guilty to them.

99% conviction rate. Whats the point of the hearing!

I reckon he'll get off and then announce in a couple of weeks he's available for England selection again.

With this in mind, and given they cared not a jot for Suarez's intent - simply that he said the words - Terry surely cannot get off.

2/2 The FA charge does not require intent of words to be proven. Intent and and "racially aggravated" element only considered for sanction

You'd think it would be an open and shut case - "Mr Terry, did you say these words? " JT "Yes, but.........." following the use of the words there should be no way out for him and he serves his ban BUT it's the FA so until there is an actual verdict I wouldn't be shocked to see him get off.

The following was at the side of an article about the case on the beeb.

Dan Roan BBC sports news correspondent:

"Finally, an end is now in sight to one of the most acrimonious disputes seen in English football. Last year, an FA panel took four days to deliberate before handing Luis Suarez an eight-match ban for racial abuse.

This time, a verdict should come quicker, but the fall-out will be greater. At stake is not just the reputation of one of the most prominent figures in the English game. This has also shone a spotlight on the conflicting interests at the heart of the FA's disciplinary process and its relationship with the law.

This has always been about so much more than simply what one man said to another on a pitch. The Terry case raised serious questions about football's fight against discrimination. FA independent panels have handed out many judgements in the past. Few will have been as important as this."

Why would the fall out be greater? and surely it is all about what one man said to another on the pitch.

LOL The FA are so inconsistant, how come Luis gets 8 games and Terry gets 4???

Ok his fine is a lot bigger 220k, Luis 40k, but whats the justification from the FA over the difference in the number of games banned?
