Not our finest moment as a club. When you fundamentally do not believe you are racist is is difficult to perhaps accept the criticism and figure out what is the right thing to do.
It wasn't found that he was racist, but breached the rules in making reference to colour. Still so much ignorance about what actually went down with that, both on the pitch and at the EPL.
Though how Terry got away with it at the same time is the bit that rankles. Perhaps we should have made a complaint to the police, let them do a criminal investigation and when that failed EPL could drop it too.
Pragmatically, with hindsight, a mitigation defence would have been the prudent option, but meh.

Just seen this, about the Leeds GK being banned. To be honest this is the first I recall hearing of the incident. At a cursory glance it seems that there are similarities to the Suarez-Evra incident in terms of the evidence and burden of proof being discussed.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
Great article. One of the fund managers I used to work with apparently now has a no taking the knee sign as his WhatsApp profile pic. Previously had Farage. Doesn’t like black players playing for England cos they’re lazy. Chelsea fan. Total cunt obvs.

Racism has never gone away unfortunately... and now with social media it’s as rife as ever... Vile people sitting behind their keyboards on their phones and laptops...

And with a Prime Minister that has been guilty of racism himself a lot of people who hold these views now feel entitled. We saw it with the defence of the statues last summer.
As you say racism has never gone away, it’s always been here, we just see it more now

Yep it never went away, it is just that racists have been emboldened more in recent years and now see their ignorant views as being something that is acceptable to express in public.
If we cannot get our heads around people from the same planet having different colours and/or different cultures, then it is just as well we do not have beings from other planets making contact with us.
And don't get me started on intolerances over sexual orientation or religion.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.
