Why are they desperate it should be AC though, rather than any other strikers, which they seem able to scout and buy very well tbf ?

normally is but its on again in Jaunary to not clash with the World cup in future and I think they are hoping to make it a summer tournament eventually.

If we had Cisse and Ba (with no Suarez) and they were both heading to ACN in January we'd be bricking it. Carroll is a ready made step-in who is actually available, they just need to pay the price now.

Really don't see it like that at all, with their record of buying strikers, i believe they could find a striker or two with the 20mill we want for AC.

Especially if it's just to see them through the ANations.

Under Pardew i meant tbh. You don't believe he could find a striker to see them through the AN without having to pay 20mill for AC ? Who himself hasn't set the world alight for any length or time with his goal scoring, for them or us.

I think he could find another Ba or Cisse for under 20mill, tbh, enough for them not to be desperate to sign AC anyway.

I don't think Pardew could do it again. Not saying he was lucky per se with Ba/Cisse but its not that easy to find good strikers out there, despite how easy Pardew made it look previously.
