If he signs he signs, as it stands we have said we are interested, he has a wonderful relationship with the boss, he had a amazing season in arguably one of the teams of the seaon, its natural that other teams will be taking a look at him and just because we are Liverpool that is no longer enough ... if we get him we get him, he looks like a decent signing .. Suggest we all chill our beans and stop filling in the gaps every ****ing summer

has the chance to move to United at some point
lives in London (might be a draw for somw)

If he moves to Liverpool, he:

      gets to play for Liverpool
plays in a decent team that finished 8th

No brainer for someone who is not a Liverpool fan really. The club needs a wake up call really.
Or a club that had recently obtained silverware and was appearing in cup finals. A club who had a season glitch. Both are in the Europa, one is rudderless with no direction and could be facing an exodus of players, one has signed a manager who he understand his ideas and how he will be expected to play - I don't think you did our 'plus points' any justice. But yes, I obviously look at it through red tinted glasses.

It's only my personal preference that we shouldn't be bullied into throwing more money at a player. If he wants to play for Rodgers, he can do so at a price he would have agreed with Swansea, if his head is turned my more money, than his personal motivations don't align with mine and perhaps (purely speculative) not Liverpool's.

We've seen players join us for lower wages than what they had on the table (Bellamy from memory, Adam's at a guess), if he wants to join, great. If he doesn't, we move on, but I certainly don't blame Liverpool football club, Rodgers, Ayre or the tea lady if this transfer falls through.

It's not really, our wage bill is absolutely disgraceful for the quality (or lack of rather) we've got.

Do you think Spurs will never have a manager?

Of course Spurs will sort out a manager, but Gylfi will not know what that manager thinks of him. While this is true for any player when a new manager comes in, Gylfi actually has a choice in this case. He can pick Spurs and hope to impess the new manager, or he can pick LFC where he knows the manager rates him.
For Modric staying or not could also make a difference IMO. If he knows he`ll probably get a starting place for Spurs other than having to be just a "squad" player for LFC he`ll pick Spurs

Why are Spurs rudderless? Levy does the transfer deals - everyone knows that.

The new manager is probably already lined-up.

Spurs have outperformed us in the league for 3 years.

Should have added "now" to the manager thing.

He has less of a chance starting at Spurs than with us ... Pssst Spurs are a better side right now and as it stands a club in a stronger position ... we are stilling trying to get an invite back to the party ... we are not quite out in the cold but we have our gloves on

Seriously, what's the ****ing difference between £55k a week and £70k a week in the greater scheme of things? He's not going to spend it all is he?

If I needed a smart arse calculator I'd have asked for one.

It does make a mockery of his character assessment that said he's a professional that wants to play and isn't motivated by money.

Is there any proof that he has signed for Spurs?

As someone has said earlier, if Spurs are prepared to pay him higher wages it`s probably because they want him more.
If Spurs sign him to replace Modric, he`ll get his fair share if chances to impress. If LFC signs him to improve the overall squad he`ll maybe not get that many chances.

Think I'll duck out of this thread until we have confirmation one way or another.

                              It's getting a little heated.

I also think like this ... the reality of the situation though is most people in this world do not.

But hey this is all ****ing conjecture on speculation of he said she said .. lets wait to see what happens ehh
