its not over until his loan deal runs out, so sit tight.
really pisses me off that all our dealing become public knowledge, allowing agents to almost auction their player to the highest bidding franchise
there is no class left in football
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

People can disagree all they want but no-one heard about Spurs until this past week and look how quickly they seem to have wrapped up the deal. However, it's standard procedure when it comes to Liverpool football club. As always we move slow. I also get the feeling we came in with a derisory offer for Sigurdsson probably thinking he'll come to us because of the "we are Liverpool football club" factor. That may have worked back in the 80's but it's not the case now. Players will more often than not go where the money is. If we think Sigurdsson could be an important member of our squad then why not match the £55k which is what Spurs are believed to have offered? Call me a drama queen but this is not a good start to Rodgers's Liverpool tenure and it's not even his fault.

There is no class left you are right but other clubs seem to have moved with the times and do their deals despite factors such as agents & the pressOriginally posted by baitman View Postits not over until his loan deal runs out, so sit tight.

Whilst we do seem to bungle through our deals, and if we face any kind of competition for the signature we seem to fall down
I cant remember the last player we signed who we faced stiff competition forBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

You'd have to look at our Youth Academy for that. It seems like whoever we want, we get. For the first team, it's the opposite.Originally posted by Lecter View PostThere is no class left you are right but other clubs seem to have moved with the times and do their deals despite factors such as agents & the press

Rick Parry seems like a genius compared to all that have followed him since. At Least he had a a manager lined up on each and every occasion without the slightest of hint to the press.

Signing players for the youth team and reserves is a little different to signing players for the first team, don't you think?
The story of us battling it out with other teams for an unheard of teenager doesn't sell papers, so it doesn't make the back pages, so we don't hear of them until the club announce they've signed.
Exception to the rule are Sterling type wonderkids, of which the agent usually touts them about anyway - and we heard about the 'tug of war' with him, as we always do when they're higher profile. It's just not presented across a series of dramatic headlines across the media.Hello mert.
