He has not shown he can offer a bigger goal threat than Sterling or Suso, and does not look like he would be better at leading the line than Suarez. Still unsure of why he was bought, with Rodgers obviously knowing his qualities well, and the formation he wanted to use. I dont see how he fits in. But perhaps he will come good, or he has hidden pace/skills/finishing

Works hard and make some decent runs but technically poor and his finishing is erratic to say the least. Lot of money to be spent on someone who will only be a squad player IMO.

time is on his side, he is supposed to have 'good movement' but this may just be due to added fibre. shame we cannot add something that will bring extra goals.

Quuite possibly we will have:

Suarez
Sturridge
Borini
Sterling
Ince

Five players, to go into six positions.

I s'pose the immediate positive is that there are various combinations of the five that you could play, showing flexibility to cover injury, loss of form, suspension etc.

The immediate negative is the amount of pressure those players will have to be amongst the goals; Our goal threat from midfield will be non-existent and we will probably have a right back out-scoring our midfield *AND* defence.

Going back on topic, a majority all clamoured for Borini to be played central. Due to injury, Suarez has made himself undroppable from the focal point - can Borini adapt his game to feed off the scraps? He certainly has youff on his side.

Take them out and we still have the likes of Sterling, Suso, Shelvey and Gerrard who can play in those roles. I sometimes wonder if would be better off investing this kind of money in one quality proven player. £30m will get a lot of interest thats for sure, even without CL.

Sturridge is 6ft 2.

Oh, and Borini and Suarez are 5ft 11, not tall for footballers but hardly midgets.

I suppose it's less riskier having bodies, but personally i would rather we had quality rather than quantity. All good having the bodies, just a matter of whether they are producing.
