Unless it's part of Rodger's plan to have two people for every position, he said when he came in (I think it was when we signed Sahin) that he ideally wants six centre mids because, in theory, three will start and we need backup and subs.

Agger may be his countryman, but for a direct reference Erikson would need to talk to the previous nearly world class player that left Ajax and became an actual world class talent - Suarez.

Erikson is a nearly man at Ajax and could feasibly, under Rodgers, become as big a star as Luis.
      One tit for another.

I know he is a great attacking talent but is he the right type to be focusing on now. Is he closer to the finished article like Sturridge?

Bringing Poulsen into any thread apart from his own.

                Bumping the Poulsen thread.

We are 9th in the premier league.. one of the brightest young talents in world football wouldn't even consider us at this moment in time.... and rightly so.

                  Fantasy stuff!

He may want to use us as a stepping stone to get a move to a big club

                          Bigger than Ajax ?
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Imo he is ready for a move to a bigger club but I think it is important to note that he is definitely more the creator than the scorer.

One of the problems that we had over last little while is that our midfield players (I suppose Stevie stepped up as of late) have not been very productive and I am not sure that will change if he joins.

Thanks mate. Never seen him play except at the Euros where he did not impress that much.

Based on what i am reading about him - linked to Barca, Madrid, Mancs - he seems to be quite a talent.

He is a great talent, one of the biggest, if not the biggest talent to come out of Denmark since the Laudrup's, but I'm not certain he is what we need the most right now as a type. He would take some accomodation if we got him, and probably time to adjust to the PL. Perhaps if Rodgers saw a point in getting a no 10 in to be the focal point further up the pitch, but I reckon we do have more concerning areas of the team needing strenghtening right now.
