Zidane was a better static player but Iniesta is by far a better dribbler/runner.

Zizou could glide and turn past players all day long. Far from static IMO mate. His 360 turn on the move was something to behold.Originally posted by Captain Stu View PostZidane was a better static player but Iniesta is by far a better dribbler/runner."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." No, I don't mean HE was static - I mean if you were looking at their ability to stand still, receive a ball and play it off - he wins hands down, his first touch is probably the best I've ever seen.Originally posted by Tee View PostZizou could glide and turn past players all day long. I'd still vote Iniesta though.
One odd thing about Zidane - he got better and better as he got older and older, way past what's considered to be the "prime" years.

And a good point about him improving beyond the so called peak years of a footballer. Was just pure joy to watch.

Zizou. Its not even close either.
Iniesta's a class player, but he's not in the same class as Zidane was. Zizou was absolutely ****ing amazing in his pomp and well into his thirties. He won it all and even headbutted Materazzi

is the right and only answer.
i still rate zidane as the greatest of my generation if not all time. he won everything FFS and as Harv has said played amazing football well into his 30's - the supposed twighlight years of a career.
he was at madrid during the "galacticos" period but of all the star names on show one man stood head and shoulders above the rest and carried the team to an extent - Zidane!
he made juve tick, he made the double euro & WC winners france tick and he made madrid tick - legend!!!People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

it really isn't close, surprised 10 people have voted for Iniesta to be honest. Wonderful player but nowhere near on the same level.
