He's certainly on the same level IMO. His impact is just diluted because of Messi, and to a lesser extent Xavi and the rest. Zidane was wonderful, magical, but his genius was more apparent because he played in less brilliant sides.

Iniesta is a faultless footballer. As an attacking midfielder he is perfection.

It's quite insulting that people seem to think Iniesta is only good because he plays FOR Barca and WITH Messi... perhaps it's the other way round, Iniesta does a lot of good work both on and off the ball which creates the chances and space for Messi and would he be part of that team if he wasn't a top world class player?

Can't help but feel he's being massively under-rated here.

Massively. I've never felt he is as appreciated as he should be. I could watch him play football all day. Just a beautiful, beautiful footballer.

It's all subjective this, but by any definition they're both "world class", absolutely no doubt about it. Some of you are almost making Iniesta sound average here

Not really. He's being compared to an all time great. A comparison he's coming out on the wrong side of, rightly IMO, but he's being compared to the best. Now if there was an Iniesta vs Paul Scholes thread it would probably look quite different.

I think Iniesta is quite comfortably and most definitely an all time great. He's a stand out player in the greatest side of all time. Wait til he's done.

I don't think history will read that way to be honest. His legacy will certainly be overshadowed by his more illustrious team mate.

He is only 28. Think about everything he has won and done in his career. Arguably got 4 more years or so at the top.

Everyone will be overshadowed by Messi.

Iniesta is a stand out player in the greatest side of all time - and with at least 5-6 more years left, loads more stuff to win and loads more incredible football to play, he will be an absolute shoo-in to the ATG category.

Snap, I enjoy watching Iniesta more than Messi.

Terrifying. There's at least one more Champion's League in his future, gotta be.

As I said, I'm always left mesmerized by him. His small movements, his passing is near perfection in a small area - honestly can't think of a player better at playing in a small area than him. On top of that he has a great technique and dribbling skills and a vision only matched by few.

The thing going against him in a vote like this is that he is less obvious on a pitch, and rarely do the spectacular things like a Zidane did i.e. scoring some great goals, doing tricks on the pitch and such. Iniesta is a different kind of attacking midfielder, but to me a more interesting one watching.

One thing for sure is that Zidane had more 'defining' moments (so far) like the two goals in the WC final, 'that' goal in the CL final, the free kick last minute vs England and, of course, the headbutt

The thing that is going against Iniesta is that he is being compared to one of the best players of all time. Nobody is calling Iniesta average, he is a truly magnificent talent. To be honest though i'm surprised the poll isn't more in the favour of Zidane, there's just no comparison IMO. Each to their own
