We played 4-3-3 with Henderson and Coutinho swapping about surely?

Nope, watch the game again. It was a pretty clear midfield four with Aspas playing up front with Sturridge.

      Mignolet
      Johnson Toure Agger Enrique
      Henderson Gerrard Lucas Coutinho
      Aspas Sturridge

This is how we lined up, and it was visible when we defended. Going forward, there was lots of movement but it was a 4-4-2.

I must have been watching a different game then because that didn't look like 4-4-2 to me

I think people are stuck on trying to see a 4-3-3 because Rodgers is the manager.

Neither Sturridge nor Aspas played wide. Henderson was on the right.

It was 4-3-3 as far as I was concerned.

Aspas on the right of the 4-3-3 and Coutinho on the left (Well anywhere he wanted really!). Coutinho switched with Henderson at times.

Nah it wasn't a 442, it was a 433 with the players interchanging.

Call it 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 but it certainly wasn't 4-4-2 imo. As you said the players were interchangeable. There were times when Sturridge was up top and then he'd interchange with Aspas.

Exactly. We play a fluid interchanging 4-3-3 that much is very obvious.

                    The way I saw it. It was 4 - 2 - rotation

I had it down more as a 4-2 then the rest of it was a bit sorta Jackson pollock-y with no it changing from 2-2 to 3-1 to 1-3 and then 2-1-1. Each of Aspas, Sturridge and the Cout seemed to be playing at least 3 positions at times to with Henderson switching between the right and middle.

It was brill! We're going to smash some mutha'uckers this year!
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I just don't believe anyone would have been happy for the club to pay £30m back then. Why would you when he hardly played for inter and wasn't consistent in his performances.
Thats cause they post a billion times more than me

If we buy Willian I'll cheer him on and hope he scores a half dozen goals and gives us over a dozen assists in his first season. I'll want him to become the envy of all the league. Just like Coutihno is.

I can also point out that if hes so amazing why is it no other large teams have ever gone for him. Remembering that he IS 25 and plenty already know of him, because as already said, hes meant to be an amazing talent. An amazing talent no other larger teams want.

I really can't agree with that. If you think you can accurately or completely judge the whole range of a footballer's attributes based on a short compilation some random person threw together in 10 minutes, well that's just silly, you have no idea of what sort of selection has gone on, how many games the clips are from etc, and are basically reducing all football to 10 second views of goals and assists. Oh, and if you're going to come up with irrelevant stuff to justify your rather absurd position about a player you have never watched play 90 minutes then at least get it right, Chelsea lodged an official bid to buy him at Shakhtar but their owner refused to sell to Roman, and sold him to ridiculous spending Anzhi instead for €35m. Hardly minnows at the time, and hardly nobody wanting him.

Again, snap judgements on videos, but those are meant to be his best form. Previous seasons in lower leagues, never seems to light up anything. I'm going to go ahead and say he'll be an average player for us if we get him and his 30mill price tag will bring the same response that Carrol did for us. You're free to think he'll be excellent. If we do buy him I'm going to hope he turns into a shining star. I just dont see it happening. As far as Gonzalez and Assaidi, was never impressed. I have Borini in the same group as them.
Who says these are his "best form", or even representative of it? I genuinely don't know if he'll be worth the money if we do sign him, but I know enough to know that I'm not going to write any player off before ever seeing him properly, and in such cases I general prefer to defer to the judgement of knowledgeable people who do know what they are talking about. Those sort of people seem to think this guy is a talent.

There are comments on the similarities between Willian and Coutinho. IMO that is excellent. We replace like for like on the wing and we move Coutinho into his best position the number 10 role.

can anyone get the average position graph thing to see how we set up on average?

EDIT: Wrong thread but from reading above I had no idea it wasn't the match thread
