Glen is world class and on £110k a week. Aly is not. We need a left sided Glen but do we have the funds, and indeed, is there even one out there that's available?Originally posted by Gazzla View PostWhen you see the difference Johnson makes down the right it puts Cissokho in perspective, he's on loan so it's a no brainer but he needs to improve and soon to win a contractForwards.......

Massive Chav fan and I really think he will without doubt end up there. We should get in there now though whilst they still have Cashley and think Bertrand is a good enough replacement.Originally posted by Reece View PostWe should do everything we can to get Luke Shaw. He's going to be a top, TOP player.Forwards.......

People have no qualms paying £15m for a winger. In the modern game the Full backs offer the width and are like wingers. I'd pay whatever it takes. Pay for quality or keep changing every few years and wasting more money trying to get lucky. If we can find a player out there who costs less and is just as good then great. Otherwise, splash the cash.Originally posted by rcasemore View PostA top, top, top player even!
He does look class doesn't he, I'm not sure what they'll let him go for though. Fancy they'll want £15M + which is pretty steep for a full backForwards.......

I think we've shown we'll only pay what we think players are worth, if we think he's worth that then I'm sure we'd pay it but if not we won't bid more than we want to pay.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostPeople have no qualms paying £15m for a winger. I'd love to see us in for him but I'm being realistic with what I think the club will pay

Something to remember about deals for players is that the wages are a big factor. With someone like Shaw I would imagine the deal would be reasonable in that regard. I do tend to agree that we are unlikely to spend big on a fullback at the minute though. It should be the next priority though once we have the right midfield balance.
I like the look of both Southampton fullbacks in the games I have seen actually. Is it Cline who is their right back?"The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

Good point. And yes, Clyne is the RB.Originally posted by dww View PostSomething to remember about deals for players is that the wages are a big factor. I thought so too, Cissokho was acting as a winger at times with lots of space left behind him.Originally posted by danperkins View PostPersonally i thought Sakho spent the whole first half covering for him, defensive positioning very poor & gives us nothing going forward. Both CB's were covering for full backs vs City.
Somehow i don't think Cissoko will be at LFC next season... hope not anyways
